What are some of your favorite scents from around the homestead or that you associate with rural/country life?

I'll start with one of mine:

The still-smoldering remnants of a previous day's stump fire being rained out.

Sweet clover is high on my list.

So much so that I chop up and dry entire plants -- the scent is all through the plant, not just in the flowers.

When I build the Taj Mahal of outhouses, one element in "pleasantness" will be dried sweet clover tossed down the hole -- when exposed to moisture, the scent is released.

Tomato foliage when you brush past the plants. That sharp green smell is completely unique. Also rain hitting dry soil after a long dry spell in summer, nothing quite like it.
