We have massively expanded and will continue to expand the PIE program. Having PIE is like having a membership. Members with PIE get special access to content that is only available to them. One of the big features we have for PIE members is a list of vendors who offer special discounts for those members. We showcase this list to both non-pie members as an incentive to join the program and to take a look at the vendors who support our members and as for quick access to the vendors for the PIE members. We promote this list heavily and it gets a lot of traffic. 42959 times as of the writing of this and we are kicking the promotion of this program into high gear.
We mention your listing three times throughout the site. If you have multiple products we may be able to list each of those products three times. Post below if you have any questions regarding this.

So, want to get your business listed? It's very easy to do. Just fill out this form:

I do 1-on-1 retreats down here at The Castle in south Taiwan (and other healing/transformation services as well). How do I get involved in your scheme to promote our business to permies?

I just joined (today!) Jack Spirko's MSB discount vendor list. I'd also love to extend a discount to the Permies community. We sell quality hand tools for the garden, and homestead. Let me know if you're interested.

Awesome!

If you already have pie, then you have access to the pie forum and you can describe you dealio here. If you do not have access to the pie forum, then I wish to subject you to my disappointed look and then direct you to send the particulars to gir at richsoil.com and cassie will put your stuff there.

In this thread, please tell me the name of da biz and the url of the biz and we will put that in the big pie thread, complete with a link back to your post here which describes the particulars.

I would also suggest that you create a media rich thread here on permies that describes your bidness. And we will probably make a link to that as well.

(This is gonna be so cool!)

I have no pie. But I like to support permies when I buy stuff. For us with no pie, can the vendors also post in blatant advertising? For myself, I may be interested even if no discount is offered.

of course!! we are really hoping that people/businesss that want to be in the pie list will post a thread in the blatant advertising forum. they can learn how to create a great thread for their business here. or, as noted in that thread, they can shell out $200 for me to do it.

anywhoo, in that thread, they can spell out the offer for pie people and link to the pie thread. They can also spell out their offer in the promoting your biz with pie thread.

then, there will be a thread in the pie forum (that only pie users can see) that will have the details about how to get the discounts for each business, etc.

Hi Folks,

I'll blatantly advertise here! Don't mind if I do...

We have Chinese Chestnut seedlings, bare root, available to ship this spring.

Packages are sold in bundles of 25.

Everyone pays $5/tree for orders of 25, 50, or 75 trees. $4/tree for 100, 125, 150, or 175 trees, $3.50/tree for 200-500 trees. $3/tree for 500+

$1 off each tree to PIE people. (I hope this is some level of substance)

Legacy Polycultures

The chinese chestnuts are seedlings, a variety from a local (Michigan) low-input farmer. The parent trees exhibit strong blight resistance and are Michigan winter hardy. They produce copious amounts of medium to large sweet nuts. I prefer to eat these raw, like walking around pocket candy; they do not need the sweet hand of heat to make them palatable. These are perfect for large plantings either as hardy root stock to graft onto, or as commercial production trees. In my opinion, the roots are most important to this crop, and will support a large crop no matter the genetics if water and nutrient requirements are met by soil organisms over synthetic additions. Chestnuts are one of those crops that responds strongly to either irrigation or access to water through Permie earthworks. They like slightly acidic, well drained soil.

In future, we will additionally sell Korean Stone Pine, Siberian Pea Shrub, Saskatoon, and a hybrid chestnut that produces very large sweet nuts early in the season.

Thank you for the forum!

Hmmmm .... I never thought that somebody would like to promote a local business. I think we might be able to do this, but it might take some work to set it up.

Dan, could you ping me about this again in july?

So you will ship trees all over the US right? If that's the case then that's the sort of thing that this is currently set up for.

Yes, USA shipping.

We are starting small, having only one type of tree this year, but adding new trees each year. I hope to some day leave the rat race and work only in meaningful perma-empire related things.

I'm launching Spare Change Emporium, with trees and shrubs (2017-2020) adapted for drier and some altitude; (they're in the rooting beds right now); rhubarb (crowns, seeds, and some prepared products, 2017-2018 ) and various pepper products, (seeds and seasonings) (2017, the mama plants are meeting the sun right now). I know that Wheaton's Village is 4b with altitude and will be selecting some varieties to grow best in those conditions (I lived at 4b at 6500ft for six years). As well as bringing recycled products (work aprons and specialty grocery totes from denim) and tofu presses (by July 1st). Permie Pie people, I will be picking up your postage ship for continental US. I will not be able to ship trees and plants into Texas, Florida or California. There, I made it official. Hi;

I'm a fairly new member, and already find myself the recipient of a couple of slices of delicious PIE. Much thanks to the sweet bakers that sent them to me.

I am a freelance graphic designer, and would like to offer my services to Permies PIE members at a discount. I am still working out what the discount would be, but first I wanted to get a reading on whether this service would be acceptable, not to mention wanted/needed.

I will offer discounts on:

Logos
Business cards
Flyers
Posters
T-shirts/product images
Labels & Packaging
Websites - nothing complicated, just a simple attractive website for small business or farm. This would include help with written content, optimizing photos so they look great, creating tantalizing web images, and setting up a blog, if that's something you want. (I don't do much in the way of SEO - you'd have to hire someone else to do that).

And just about anything graphic design related, for print or web.

So, do you think that this is the kind of thing that members might be interested in? I know that many people struggle with marketing, and sometimes just don't know where to start. I can give them that start, at least. And make suggestions as to what to do next.

Let me know if you're interested, and I'll work up a proposal!

Cheers
Tracy

P.S. Thanks for this most wonderful and helpful site!

Please also add https://openyoureyesbedding.com to the list  Our margins are thin, but we could offer a substantial discount on our organic mattress kit fabric.  We could generate a coupon code for 15% off.

No problem Lynne. What discount do you want to give on naturalfillingstore.com and how do they collect on that discount? Please PM or email me any specifics that only PIE people should see/know (discount code or whatever). josiah (at) richsoil.com
