We have lots of really fancy tent pads and I am hoping that we get pics of a lot of them up in the next couple of days.

For now, here are some of the tent pics we have:

We have enough flat space for about 500 tents. And some people have made some really nice tent pads while they were here - they have been filled with sand, which is comfy and insulative.

I took a quick spin at basecamp and got pics of a few of the tent pads that have been built.

I like that all of the tenting areas are set up to blend with the surroundings, but still be quite clear where your area is. I also love that the tenting pads have space enough for more than just your tent. That should really limit the damaging impact campers have on the area I think.

I really like those log-edged tent pads. So neat, clean, obvious, and safe.

Good points, Tyler! Also loving the reduced human-impact on the area. We have more!

Hi there,
My partner and I will be in town for the next week or so and are hoping to tent at Wheaton labs, and do some good work trades for any current projects.  Are you taking visitors during this time?
Thanks!
Sarah

Hi Sarah, I'm thinking you'll get a quicker answer from the right people if you post about it in the Bootcamp thread.  It's a Wheaton Labs work trade where you work on permaculture stuff in exchange for a place to stay and food.

Sarah,

Right now we are full.  But we will have some room on monday.  Are you cool with that?  Give me some exact dates to work with.

We have plenty of tent pads available right now, but we do not have a formal rental manager.

Normally this thread is used for events or for the bootcamp.

The bootcamp might be easiest, but does require a one week commitment.

I think we used to rent the tent pads as part of the sepper program - but you would rent the tent pad for a full week even if you are going to stay for just a couple of nights.

Hi Paul,

This coming Monday works great.

It seems an option through the sepper program is to do work-trade for living accommodations. Is this still possible?

If not, we will check out bootcamp.

Thanks!

Bootcamp requires a week of commitment (monday through friday).  If you are cool with that, then head on over to the bootcamp stuff and fork over the coin:  https://wheaton-labs.com/bootcamp/

In the last three weeks we have received a lot of interest from people wishing to dabble in the bootcamp, but with some variations.   So we added tent stuff to the sepper program:

https://permies.com/t/146557/permaculture-projects/sepper-program-permaculture-bootcamp-experience

This makes it so that it costs a little more, but people don't have to commit to the full week, they can be in the bootcamp as much or as little as they want, bring kids, bring a spouse that is not so interested or will be working ...  etc.
