This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in tool care.

After vehicles are used, every so often they need to get serviced to continue running.

Here is a video on servicing a car.

From the video description:
"The MicksGarage.com Experts demonstrates .com shows you how to service your car yourself. The car we used for this demo is a 2005 VW Golf with the 2 litre."

Here is a video on servicing a tractor.

From the video description:
"With the new year upon us, Irish Farmers Journal machinery correspondent Darren Bailey takes a look at how to service your tractor to keep it running smoothly into 2017."

Minimum requirements:
 - perform full service on a motor vehicle or tractor
      - other heavy equipment allowed as long as it has multiple fluids to change/maintain and similar or greater complexity to a truck

Provide proof of the following as pics or video (<2 min):
 - oil being changed (during and after)
 - proper tire pressure
 - vacuum/clean engine air filter
 - vacuum/clean cab air filter
 - all signal bulbs, headlights and tail-lights are working
 - topped up brake fluid
 - topped up transmission fluid
 - topped up coolant
 - topped up windshield washer fluid
 - lube joints (during)
 - topped up hydraulic fluid (tractor)
 - basic, quick cleaning (before, during and after)

 - top off brake fluid

I just want to make sure i am getting this correct...

So people who do this bb need to take about
- oil change (4 photos)
 - adjust tire pressure(8 photos)
 - vacuum/clean engine air filter( 2 photos)
 - vacuum/clean cab air filter( 2 photos)
 - test that all signal bulbs, headlights and tail-lights are working(??? photos)
 - top off brake fluid (2 photos)
 - top off transmission fluid (2 photos)
 - top off coolant ( 2 photos)
 - top off windshield washer fluid (2 photos)
 - lube joints ( not sure which joints? maybe tractor only?)
 - Top off hydraulic fluid (tractor) ( 2 photos)
 - basic, quick cleaning ( 2-4 photos?)

For a total of ~ 32 photos to complete this BB? is this correct?

[Edits to address BBV comments: I did spruce up the lights, there were some turn signal bulbs that needed replacing, and I am glad that some tractor parts are still $7 for 10 bulbs. The video showing the function of all lights and signals is here:
. The cleaning is addressed in the new photos added, which are the cleanup from the mud-besticking episode chronicled here. I hope I have addressed all the concerns, please let me know if otherwise, thank you!]

Hey PEP-folks,

My trusty Kubota B26 tractor-loader-backhoe has almost 900hrs on it, still a very young machine, but was well overdue for a service. The service environment for its first 4 years of life was ultra-dusty and hot. The service environment now that we have moved is temperate to cold, so I think getting the vile old oil out was a good deal for its cold-starting. It's helping me on the hugel project these days, and continues to impress me as a very right-sized tractor for a lot of work. It's slower than a Bobcat or track-excavator for their specialized jobs, but as a swiss-army-knife tool that costs relatively little to maintain and repair, it's gold.

I hope the supplied photos indicate a full service to the standards of the BB, but let me know if there's aught amiss.

Happy homesteading,
Mark

I serviced my friend's Kobelco 760 back hoe. The most challenging part was in trying to figure out why the lights weren't working and I ended up finding that the 15A fuse and the signal flasher module needed to be replaced.

Front tire pressure: 30psi and back tire pressure: 50psi

There were a ton of zerks so I took a video after greasing all of them to show the fresh magenta grease:

To show the back lights, I took a quick video:

I performed this work on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma.  Two details, the transmission is sealed so there isn't a reasonable way to check its level, and there aren't any lube zirk fittings on it since it's a 2wd.
