I voted for the pumpkin pie spice latte even though I have never had one. The one time I bought a Starbucks coffee I thought it was awful. took a couple of sips and threw the cup in the trash can. However, I will give you a recipe that I enjoy, be warned, it can become addictive.
This is an easy recipe to follow, no exact measurements except 1 or 2 (15 oz.) cans of pumpkin puree, NOT THE PUMPKIN PIE MIX, UGH, DOUBLE UGH.
Put the pumpkin puree in a pot, add enough milk to make it a drinkable mixture (this will take a lot of milk and it thickens as it sits), add pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, a little salt, and molasses if you wish. Stir and set it over medium heat. Continue stirring, this will settle, until the puree is well mixed with the milk. Taste and adjust.
Enjoy. If you try this, let me know what you think of it and if you have any suggestions on how to make this better, please share.
Here is a healthier version of the pumpkin spice latte
Pumpkin & spice cashew latte
Ingredients:
20 oz hot coffee and tea
1/2 cup cashews
1/4 cup sweetener of your choosing
1/2 tsp. Pumpkin spice
2 tablespoons of cooked pumpkin
Instructions:
Just add everything to your blender and blend on high for 20-30 sec. And you will have a great latte with a nice foamy top. You don't need to strain it after you are done. There will be some fiber in it, but they are not noticeable. I Hope you enjoy if you have a Vitamix blender use the hot soup setting but stop it after about 45 sec.
I don't hate it per se, however I'm more irritated by the fact it's just warmy spices and how it's turned into *everything*...chai is year round!
Obviously the bottle of whatever they use at the shops has some artificial pumpkin flavor in it now, but I also don't want to drink pumpkin puree either lol
I do like to get a yearly fancy (aka I didn't make it and will overpaid for it!) Pumpkin spice latte/drink.But I'm staying away from the green mermaid corporation until they are fully unionized.
Fabulous idea. I've been making my own mix for actual pie spice for the last couple years. Way cheaper that way and I can switch it up if I need, but I never thought to make it super bulk. Of course I don't go through more than a regular size spice jar of it per year .

Another reason to stay away from them, is that they are switching to a no cash system. Not only does this mean that the employees won’t get tips, or as many as usually, it means that they cater to the governments plans of a cash free society.
Anyway, you should try my recipe, you can leave out the pumpkin if you want, and you will still get nice drink.

It’s different for us. We are a large family, so we go through a lot. We are also dealing with a lot of food allergies, so for that reason alone, it makes sense to make our own.
It's pumpkin spice time again!!
Instead of taking the proverbial piss like I usually do (as we tend to, living on the bottom half of the globe where we're going into summer, not autumn), this year I decided to roll with it.
I just made myself a big batch of "pumpkin pie spice" and made a double recipe of pumpkin snickerdoodle bars and let me tell you, it's like a cinnamon donut had a sweet little baby with pumpkin pie. Highly recommended. https://www.thekitchn.com/pumpkin-snickerdoodle-bars-recipe-23680520
(edited to add: instead of pumpkin in a can, I used some orange winter squash I grew in my garden, one that comes up by itself and feeds us all year. It's a stripey smaller-neck maxima species)
