Darn I wanted to be 111! I think I might be 113. I have only read over the Kickstarter page quickly. In Paul's description of his Thorn book, "About" and "Trying" don't need to be capitalized? But further down(cool public thanks), facebook should be capital F?
Awesome work! Love the video.

Here's the kickstarter image (updated version this morning) with the book cover a bit more detailed.  I'll go put it on the kickstarter page in a bit...

177 people have signed up so far to be notified the second the kickstarter launches.  I wonder how high we can get it?

Kickstarter is a curious program and Paul's never had a project get classified as a "Project that we Love" by kickstarter.  That's why we're pushing to get this number higher.  It could be that fast funding and a lot of interest makes kickstarter love us more and bump it to the top of the list.  Thus infecting more brains with permaculture.  Fingers crossed...

Looking at the prep thread last year, it looks like we hit at least 521.   So I suppose it would be a nice goal to get that number past 521?

Have the $10 and $15 levels been removed? I see them at the start of this thread but not in the Kickstarter page, so just checking if they were rolled up into the $25 level. Within the $25 level it mentions "People that supported the kickstarter at $25 or more will be asked how many physical books they want." and then gives an example of 6 books at $65. I think you might want to explain that you get 2(?) books at $25, plus an additional physical book for an additional $10(?), which would then mesh with the 6 books for $65 example. Then the 1 physical to 3 digital section as you have it.

I'm looking forward to it all going LIVE!

No but I see my mistake! The pledge levels are there, under the comments slide-out which was covering it all. I only saw the central text section of the page- doh!

I just edited it a bit as well.  The "Feedback" pop out window on the right is covering up the rewards levels

Note! To select a reward, you MUST use the kickstarter reward menu.  It might be hidden under the Feedback window on the right side.  For desktop users, it is at the top on the right.  For mobile users, please go to the top and select the "rewards" tab on the left.

It looks like a really interesting idea.

Do you know about homesteads only in the US or is there another network in other countries as well?

Have you considered to have in-person workshops to provide hands-on experiences to acquire these skills?
Obviously things now are challenging, but it might also be a good idea.
The ERC had a similar idea but more towards large areas of land. Could be a good collaboration.

Are you familiar with this organization?

Looking forward to giving you my money!

I'm from the UK, relocated to France (land prices!), and am hoping the eBook will be a nudge to get on with structuring my own land succession plan - assuming I can register land in France for SKIP?

Good luck with the last few days of prep :)

Question: is there an area on permies.com for those of us on the 'other end' of SKIP with land to pass on to perhaps add ourselves to a register, discuss our thoughts, practicalities etc?

This site is loaded with thousands of people from all over the world sharing bits and bobs about their permaculture homesteads.

There are no geographic limitations.

We have been calling the people with land "Otis" or "Otises" and sometimes Mike says "Otessa".

Here is a bit of a beginning:

And here is a thread we created when we were getting contacted by several otises:

I like it! I think it might be a bit better if the overalls were a more denim/toned-down blue. As it is, the blue overalls are the most vibrant thing on the cover, and draw my eye to them, rather than to the title. I get visually lost going from one bright overall to another, rather than going from the SKIP title to skip sub-title to the background details. I'm thinking we want the eye first look at the title, then the subtitle, and then all the cool characters, right?

I like the color scheme of the original book cover a bit better.

This one is a bit unnaturally bright.

And, those color-schemes matter, I think. When I go to the grocery aisle, all the organic/natural stuff is in those slightly more toned down colors. Those colors say "Natural."  The unnaturally-bright colors are the colors usually found on processed food.

And when I look at kickstarter, I don't see other images being this saturated. The overall's blue is literally the most saturated blue possible.
