And for those thinking, "If I spend time developing my own PEX, would that badge be something people can earn here on permies and have in their signature?" The answer is, YES!*

* The yes is contingent upon Paul, of course, and it has to fit the minimum PEX hour requirements. But, the PEX badge images are made! You can view them HERE!

Somebody on reddit asked about internet stuff to do while in quarantine.   One of the top responses was a link to this thread and the words "a couple hundred small homestead skills to build.".  It brought about 50,000 people to this thread all at once and our servers couldn't cope.   Devaka did some magic and we are running again.

I'm a little confused.  So if you complete all four PEP certifications, how many of each level badges have you done?
I'm guessing 16 sand badges, 15 straw badges, 12 wood badges, and three iron badges. Is this correct?

If you've gotten all the way through PEP4, you would have gotten all the Sand badges, upgraded them all to Straw, further upgraded a bunch to Wood and a few to Iron.  In the end you'd have 3 Iron badges, 12 Wood badges and 7 Straw badges.

Not quite.  You have to earn the lower level badge before you can earn a higher level badge.

To get an iron badge you start by earning one BB and getting an air badge, then complete BBs to earn a sand level bagde, then complete more BBs to earn a straw badge,  then complete more BBs to earn wood, and finally complete even more to earn iron.

Another way to say it is:
PEP1: 16 sand badges
PEP2:  all 22 sand badges, upgrade 8 to straw, upgrade one straw to wood
PEP3: all 22 straw badges and upgrade a total of 7 to wood
  7+15=22
PEP4: you would need to earn all 22 sand badges and upgrade all 22 to straw, upgrade 15 straw badges to wood, upgrade 3 wood badges to iron
  3 iron, 12 wood, 7 straw
  3+12+7=22

Notice the requirement of a badge in all aspects when looking at requirements
