I would like to nominate Oliver Goshey. Oliver for several years had the Abundent Edge podcast and now has the Regenerative Skills podcast. Oliver is deeply immersed in the permaculture and regenerative skills world and his podcast interviews people from all over the world who are using permaculture in their daily lives and their work.

I was just commenting on Jen Fulkerson's post on starting comfrey when I realised that Laurence D Hills wasn't included in our poll. I don't think many Permies will disagree that his work on comfrey underpins much of our ideas on soil fertility and premanent green manure crops.

I would like to nominate Mark Boyle - he has written two, for me, very profound books, The Moneyless Manifesto, in which he talks about gift economy and living without money, as well as his latest book, The Way Home, which he has written with pen and paper. There he writes about the latest journey in his life, living on a permaculture-inspired homestead/smallholding with no electricity, no running water and nearly no money. There he also built, with the help of others, The Happy Pig, a hostel based on the gift economy principles, where people can come and stay for free as long as it makes sense. I chatted with Paul today, and he thought it was time to sort the votes by People's Choice (soon we hope to have the tie-breakers for People's Choice be the apple votes). Everyone can vote in the People's Choice--you all have one thumbs-up. And if you have pie, you can give an extra thumbs up, and also a thumbs-down!

That's the plan! But, we need new programming to make that happen. Right now, we only have the options to sort by "thumbs, then order entered" or "thumbs, then alphabetical" (or "apples, then order entered" or "apples, then alphabetical"). Our programmer has a lot on his plate, and no one wants me breaking permies playing with programming code I know NOTHING about

You should be able to use all you apples. Some polls have apple limits for everyone, like the What do you call this large cat? and the Myers Briggs Personality poll. Some polls have no limits, like the Aspies (and non aspies!) what are your "intensely focused interests"?, Favorite Christmas Song and the Worst Christmas Song polls.
