Out at the Pinehowl Permaculture Campstead in Forest County (NE Wisconsin) we are doing an Intro To SKIP weekend on May 5th and 6th. Come out to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest to see the ongoing natural building, food forest and woodland stewardship projects. Okay, so the existing works are not on the grandest scale, but the emphasis is on growing from a healthy foundation of permaculture fundamentals. The SKIP program is an innovative approach to developing such a basis.
People can come and go Saturday the 4th through Tuesday the 7th as they wish, with Sunday and Monday being focused on work days. We will take on various tasks during the day and help each other submit the documentation to permies.com in the evening to obtain the Badge Bits associated with them. The specific tasks are not scheduled but can be chosen from anything appropriate in the SKIP program. You can poke around at https://permies.com/wiki/skip-pep-bb for more info on the program. Also, some might be familiar with a local by the name of Mike Haasl who should be able to answer questions or sell you a shiny new book on the subject. He might even lend some expertise to the Monday projects.
I aim to put together a simple brunch and dinner each day people are around based on organic vegetables and White Bison meats. This would be rounded out by a potluck of side dishes, please bring something OoB (Organic or Better) if you wish to participate.
This is all very informal, camp out here if you'd like, no charges for anyone who behaves like a decent human. Moosage me if you would like more details…
