I am new to your site and don't see any current activity...is this still a viable site?  I like the format and love the content so far.  Today is 1/30/25
Thank you kindly,

Hi Katrina, definitely a viable site. I'd suggest looking at this view of the forums: https://permies.com/forums which shows the threads all across the subject domains with the most recent posts.

Welcome to Permies!

We are a perennial site, so sometimes you'll find an old thread that is still here, but no one has added to in years. It's OK to do that if you have something to add. Sometimes that is best, sometimes starting a new thread is best.

Welcome to permies, Katrina!

We've had over 4 million visits and 20 million pageviews this month. And there seems to be plenty of posting activity. Maybe browse around the different forums, or go to the main forum page to see all the latest posts.

A few days ago, there was a quick minute when the site was down. I'm guessing it was related to the server change. When I say a quick minute, that's because that's all it was. Probably some freak coincidence that I just happened to log in at the same time, I forgot about until now.

Viable for doing what?

Sorry, my imagination is a bit off kilter today.  It seemed better to ask than keep coming up with new and exciting ideas of what "a viable site" is.

Anyway, welcome, here's a place to get started learning about permies.  https://permies.com/w/how-permies-works

Welcome to the forum.

I find the forum quite active so I wonder if it was the subject that you found not viable?

I am looking forward to getting to know you.
