My beloved quilt was found by my sweet bored puppy, and thus, many holes ensued.

First, I noticed the batting in my quilt was twice as thick as the all-cotton batting I have on hand. I cut a piece twice as long and folded it over.  Then I carefully stitched it to the existing batting.

Next I took a square of all cotton fabric that was bigger than the hole I was trying to repair.  I folded it under about a quarter of an inch all the way around and stitched it in place.

Last, I quilted through all fabrics using a similar pattern as the rest of the quilt to ensure sturdiness and continuity.

This BB helped me knock a task of my own personal to do list.  I appreciate those two birds with one stone times.  There were actually two holes in this quilt.  I took a before/tools pic of the larger hole, one of it finished, and forgot to snap a progress shot.  Luckily I had another bit of mending and got the proof for the BB!

Thanks, enjoy!

Note: I certify this BB complete. Well done Gunnar.

Staff note (Paul Fookes) :

When submitting a BB, make sure that each part is well documented.  You show the hole and the supplies in the one photograph which is slightly confusing.
If four photographs are required, from my point of view as a certifier, it is better to see four photographs labeled per the requirements.

Never the less, well done.  Looking forward to more great BBs.

She's brilliant. She can see what can be and is not limited to what is. And she knows this tiny ad:
