I was advised to add this here.

I set up a new thread yesterday, but looks like its been removed.
It was here: https://permies.com/t/149814/OPEN-CALL-Prevent-Damage-Improving
May I ask why?
I don't see how it violated any rules.

With thanks

Looks political to me, so it can't be posted outside the cider press.

And you haven't earned enough apples to post there yet.

Fair enough, I suppose it is given it looks at improving law(s).
I considered it fair game given chapter 14 of "the manual" and it being focussed on improving our collective communities

I thought it might be acceptable as I would be surprised if anyone in this forum would find the content unreasonable, along with it being a call for collaboration and consensus, not dogma..
But if this is your final decision, I shall accept it resignedly.

Thank you for your reply.

there are things that moderators here like very much and some things they don't like at all. I got all my apples taken away because I posted something they didn't like at all and I still don't understand it. I was not offensive or anything like that. just saying its allways good to be like Ringo---Peace and love man.

In general, the volunteer staff don't like it very much if you post that they are ignorant and short sighted just because you get reined in for pushing the boundaries of the 'be nice' rule and generally shit stirring and making work for them. I don't have the time and energy to deal with stuff like that any more, and on the occasions I do stick my nose in and see other staff burning out the same way I do, it hurts to read claims like that when pretty much anyone would find what you wrote offensive. If you really did preach love and peace instead of being snide and manipulative behind the scenes then maybe the staff would have more time for you. If I had been the one to see what you were up to I'd have probably just banned you as my tolerance to such behaviour is negligible these days having been exposed to too much of it over the years.

Michael's post on the other hand would be fine posted in the cider press when he has enough apples.

Don't be dismayed, look around and see what you can post on and have fun and learn! Posting advice for people asking for it a good way to get apples. Starting threads about any interesting permaculture projects you are/have built/made can get some apples, especially if it is something people haven't seen before. And definitely check out the PEP program in the SKIP forums. Many of the PEP badges are for things you may already be doing or may want to do. Just document them according to the instructions, and you will rack apples up in a hurry. Good luck!

I agree, and there are so many different "badge bits" that you can try all sorts of basic, practical "life skills" so many of them are things which are good to practice or learn.

I personally give apples when people post pictures or good explanations of things they have built, are building, ideas for something I haven't seen or heard of before.  If the process is shown step by step it gets extra points from me.  I like to see things people are actually doing on their land.  That seems to me the way to spread permaculture and homesteading.  It's a great way to actually reach people by showing them ideas of what can be accomplished, or things they can adapt to their own land.  Post personal experiences and you will get apples quickly.
