This one is a thinker for me.

I really love a variety of gardens with different designs and purposes. Put all together, I think the footprint would be much larger than my house currently.

I suppose I am going to go with having a house the size of my gardens. I don't want to limit my growing space anytime soon.

Yeah, like Tim, I wouldn't want to shrink my garden, so I guess I'll have to grow my house! (Can someone come dust for me?)

Due to circumstances beyond my control... my garden is only 100sqft. That would be pretty hard to pull off, even as a tiny home. So I'm going to pick making my garden the size of my house.

My (large) garden is just slightly larger than my (small) house, and I think this proportion is just about perfect for me right now. Small house means less time cleaning, more time outside getting dirty!!

(I can't wait til I can have a MUCH larger garden than house)

Nope, my gardens are way way bigger and since I spend most of my time outdoors, that's the way I want it to stay

Oddly, they are about the same size.

I think they are about the same size now? This question does not make sense to me. I would like to expand my garden and shrink my house, if that is what this is about.

Less cleaning and more weeding!

I am actually thinking of cutting an 8x8 section out of my 850 square foot house in the middle of the south side, but keeping the roof overhang

Perhaps this was not the best crowd. I was thinking about a decent sized house, say 1500-2500 sqft house, and a smaller garden say 500-800sqft.

But alot of you already have a garden as big or bigger than your house.

Not the best crowd 😂

500-800 sqft can provide a huge quantity of food, so feel good!!

Sure, for a family of say, a dozen or more, that's a decent sized house ;-)

But in terms of how much space I need to heat in winter: 1/3-1/2 is more than enough. I do a summer kitchen and prepare any veggies outdoors 3 seasons where the rinse water goes straight back in the garden.

Granted, I have tons of outdoor storage -- galvanized cans galore, shipping containers....

My house is too big, and my garden, too small. So, if I have to choose, I'd go with a much bigger garden. Matt, you'll have to send me help to take care of them, though!🤣
