I was in the garden today, and thought it would be fun to get this post going. The funny thing is though I always intend to save seeds, I usually don't manage it.  I've been a little better this year.

You know your a seed saver when you walk around the garden with a pocket full of dead flowers

you know your a seed saver when you look at the dried beans hanging on the vine instead of seeding the end of bean season, you think of the ton of seeds you can plant and share next year.

I look forward to hearing you finish the sentence.

You know you're a seed saver when you find seeds in your pockets after laundering them (or putting them away) and have no idea what those seeds are or where they came from, because there are so many seeds in so many pockets....


You know you're a seed saver in good company when you mention your seed saving/snatching to someone, who immediately pulls seeds out of their pocket, and you have a swaperoo!!

You know your seed saver when you see the last of the season tomatoes, split and ruined and see next year's tomato plants.

When you miss foraging from a public peach tree grove, but you harvest the pits the racoons left behind.

When you cut the butt ends off your onions and plant them everywhere.

...which is why I've got 8 pots of yellow and red Pitaya (Dragon Fruit) on my front window ledge...

Not to mention 2 pots with avocado pits in them, although they hardly qualify as exotic fruit any more.
