It's been a long week and the snow is still falling - time for some R&R.
3-way-switch.jpg
Wiring up a light on a 3 way switch circuit in the solarium.

Some comedy later and vvala, let there be energized switches and light.
project-material.jpg
Romping around mini mountain for the right sized green round wood for our chair builds next week.
Go with the flow that only you know, and consider the rest as sketchy at best. Far be it from me to try and turn moss into a tree - for moss has a beauty same as carpet has a duty. Call me Apple, I require a minimum number of chill hours to be fruitful and crush.
Reid, showing us all how amateur he is by not wearing his safety glasses as he clips this 20" tree stump to shreds.
woocks.jpg
A bit of sascatune that was too small for a spoon but just right for a few picks - whole sawn.
sassy-woockys.jpg
The only thing Better than an instrumental tool is a whole band saw.

Once the blanks were cut it was all up to the belt and orbital Sander. Uber fun micro woodworking project with a creative ceiling bar none.

Flexible material makes good picks and it's temporary to a degree.

There's still more than a foot of snow in places and the 50+ sticks around for about an hour but I'll take it.

electrical.jpg
Wesley wiring in a plug for one of the several electrical projects that need to be done as.the paneling of the library nears completion.
electrical-1.jpg
Still more outlets, switches and wiring to make the solarium a nicer space to bunk in.
electrical-2.jpg
A couple outlets, a light fixture and a switch running back to a split outlet for a fan, in this run.

I always thought sun rise at 6 was too early, thanks mountains!

Finishing up the wiring project from yesterday in the AM
4.jpg
Onto round wood furniture day and I was designated slab dude for the seats.
5.jpg
A little while later and a pile of saw straw and a couple of decent slabs from this 20" inch log.
6.jpg
One of the slabs didn't end up meeting up and needed some work. A good opportunity to log serious time with the portable 'give a shit machine.'

Reid and Wes working on the mortises for the backrest and legs of the chairs.

It's been a few months since last years hatch has grazed our open hugels and even tho the peckings have been slim they look bigger - there's even a beard or two showing.
diy-switch.jpg
Always nice when the parts are available to get the job done instead of waiting on a hardware run. Wiring up a pull chain switch in parallel.
diy-light-switch.jpg
Hindsight the chain should have been drilled thru the light fixture pointed down but a pair of snips solved the issue without being obvious.
round-wood-chair.jpg
We had a little time between projects to work on our round wood chair and started to see it take form. We had to rewind to do a bit of retrofitting, however.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What are you going to do now?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Goin straight Bob. I don’t know, get a job, find myself a gal.. or, I dunno what people do nowadays, build-a, uh, a barn maybe, paint the barn with the gal, put the gal in the barn, you know; American dream."
An attempt to grab some sawmill material out of a stronghold of snow.
chair-adjustment.jpg
Hammers were not harmed in the making of this chair, they were instrumental.
square-the-seat.jpg
After deciding front and back it was time to square it up for install.
modified-log-chair.jpg
A couple iterations later and this is function. Fit is factored in and then form.
Beautiful chair! You might want to round off the two front corners so you don't bump your calves into them all the time
