a quote from the article

Sculptural artist Spencer Byles spent a year creating beautiful sculptures out of natural and found materials throughout the unmanaged forests of La Colle Sur Loup (where he lived with his family), Villeneuve Loubet and Mougins. He worked together with elements of his natural surroundings to create artwork that blends seamlessly with the environment.

These look like so much fun!
Here are two of many beautiful forms shown in the link.......

There are several artists doing similar work. Perhaps the best known and most ambitious is Andy Goldsworthy.....

Nature made this. It's about 10 feet from my road. I discovered it 2 weeks ago.

I worked at an art museum that featured Patrick Dougherty and he spent a couple months there building one of his stickworks that wrapped around the staircase, along with some other installations. He's really fascinating to talk with, and it was just amazing to see him work.

I really love the spirals in the first post. Would love to do that in our woods, but I have very little artistic vision. Envious of people that do.

"Oma forest (in Basque: Omako basoa) is a work of art created by Agustin Ibarrola, a Basque sculptor and painter. The work is located in a forest near Kortezubi (Bizkaia, Basque Country), in the natural reserve of Urdaibai. It is also known as the 'painted forest'. The work follows the modern art trend called Land art. Most of the trees are Monterrey pines. The projects aims to display the horrible and ghastly harmony between nature and human presence by painting on the trunks of trees, human figures, animals and geometric shapes, some of which are visible only from certain positions." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oma_forest

Tom Hare says....

"I work with greenwood, specifically willow to create large woven sculpture to commission.

I've always loved vessels so it seemed natural to progress from throwing pots (an early creative endeavour) to building baskets...
I was first introduced to willow on a weekend course when my imagination was captured by the endless possibilities of this truly amazing plant. Willow is the perfect example of a sustainable material, which can be woven into forms with such spontaneity."

Nikolay Polissky Creates Towering, Handcrafted Structures Across Russia

Artist Nikolay Polissky was born in Moscow in 1957. He creates large, handcrafted structures in the middle of Russia's vast landscapes, mostly around the town of Nikola Lenivets (200 km from Moscow). His works are built entirely by the area's residents, using local materials, such as branches, trunks and wooden tables. Traditional construction techniques are used as a starting point for the projects.
His work is inspiring not only because of its imposing form, but also because he managed to re-activate a semi-abandoned village through art and architecture, involving residents in the creative process and transforming the region into a sort of open cultural center. Since 2003, his work has been part of Archstoyanie, the largest Land-Art festival in Russia. (From Arch Daily).

This reminded me of the Cathedral Of Thorns which Herman van Bergen is building at Curaçao.
Here is a photo I made of a detail of it:

...here's another from this wikipedia article...

In 2020, the Cathedral of Thorns was built in the garden by Herman van Bergen [nl]. It is a cathedral and maze constructed using 30 million thorn bushes, and was constructed over a five-year period.
