There are several artists doing similar work. Perhaps the best known and most ambitious is Andy Goldsworthy.....

I had to look up Andy Goldsworthy's work...here is a couple pictures (and, Dale, I love Nature's work also I just also love installation pieces and off the wall integrated into the woods things. I recognize that Nature has a longer career

Judith OMG those ones you posted are SO amazing.

I worked at an art museum that featured Patrick Dougherty and he spent a couple months there building one of his stickworks that wrapped around the staircase, along with some other installations. He's really fascinating to talk with, and it was just amazing to see him work.

I really love the spirals in the first post. Would love to do that in our woods, but I have very little artistic vision. Envious of people that do.

These are so much fun...thinking about one in my yard now that my neighbors are getting used to my gardening habits
(I hope I haven't posted these before...they are in my memory so might already be here somewhere?)

The work is located in a forest near Kortezubi (Bizkaia, Basque Country), in the natural reserve of Urdaibai. It is also known as the 'painted forest'. The work follows the modern art trend called Land art. Most of the trees are Monterrey pines. Nikolay Polissky Creates Towering, Handcrafted Structures Across Russia

Artist Nikolay Polissky was born in Moscow in 1957. He creates large, handcrafted structures in the middle of Russia's vast landscapes, mostly around the town of Nikola Lenivets (200 km from Moscow). His works are built entirely by the area's residents, using local materials, such as branches, trunks and wooden tables. Traditional construction techniques are used as a starting point for the projects.
His work is inspiring not only because of its imposing form, but also because he managed to re-activate a semi-abandoned village through art and architecture, involving residents in the creative process and transforming the region into a sort of open cultural center. Since 2003, his work has been part of Archstoyanie, the largest Land-Art festival in Russia. (From Arch Daily).

This reminded me of the Cathedral Of Thorns which Herman van Bergen is building at Curaçao.
