What is the date for the kick starter kick off? I signed up to be notified but wondered when it is. Also does anyone have plans for a geodesic dome green house?

Looking forward to jumping on the kickstarter as soon as it opens.

2 things I'd really like - with the threat of micro novi, EMPs and other threats to grid power supply, I'd like everything possible to be downloadable. I'm pretty sure I can squirrel away and protect machines to continue to read / watch stuff on memory sticks, but I'm not confident about continued access to internet - PLUS with the cost of satellite internet access, I'd rather pay only once for the download.

The second thing on my wish list is any and all material that talks about or demonstrates how to make use of low volume high fall streams for hydro power, hydro-electricity, hydro anything a homesteader might use to reduce dependency on centrally supplied systems.

The main product (the movie) will certainly have download options!  The rest of them - that varies.  It is cost prohibitive to offer downloads of products for which there is little demand.  Some of them have upgrade-to-download options, but many do not.  If enough people want the download, we can usually work something out, depending on permissions and distribution limitations and stuff.

The good news: certain species of mycelium can digest conductive metals, so in theory it should be possible to grow your own Faraday cage!  Maybe we'll try it for next year's PTJ . . .

As for hydro - I agree, it would be cool.  Please vote for it over here: https://permies.com/t/206625/Planning-Permaculture-Technology-Jamboree

I am so excited about many of these but in particular, Another Work Is Possible: A Documentary from Mortise & Tenon Magazine. What a joy the trailer is for that! The music, the ethic, the personalities, the skill, the beauty and the immersion. Can't wait to watch the full movie!

I think the most important thing about the earlybird stuff is:  if you do the "notify me on launch" thing, you will get a 12 hour head start over everybody else.  And if you might look at your emails just once every day or two, this can make a big difference in whether you get the earlybird stuff or not.

The earlybird specials were what hooked me into the previous kickstarter. All that STUFF for $1!

Likewise, these earlybird offerings are looking awesome. Can't wait till launch! I'm most excited about Uncle Mud's offering.

The kickstarter is FUNDED! In less than 2 hours. I have never seen a kickstarted get funded so quickly, though I'm told the previous one was funded in an hour. Nonetheless, if people back it for $1 or more in the next two days, they will definitely get the ALL the earlybird specials.

Really bummed out.  Been trying for nearly an hour to log in to kick-starter to get in on the early bird funding.  Cannot log in.  New account set-up not working properly.  SIGH 😞

ETA: Finally got in and backed with some help from Kickstarter customer service. 👍🏻

I pledge $80 yesterday. How do I access the early bird offers? How do I pay the one dollar for each of them? The link keeps on taking me to the movie’s kickstarter page

Hi Sandra!

The good news is, you don't have to pay any more for any of the earlybird stuff - it's included in your pledge (provided you backed during the kickstarter window) - after the kickstarter is done and we divvy out the stuff!  You'll notice your $ hasn't been collected yet . . .

How kickstarter works is that people back a project they want to see happen, and if it is funded, the creators are able to make it a reality.  And after the kickstarter, you'll start to get all the other stuff, too.  I think we have a full entry in the kickstarter FAQ about it - let me go have a look . . .

Yup!  Right here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/paulwheaton/low-tech/faqs
It's the 7th one down, called "I put in my pledge, but I can't seem to find my stuff. How do I get my stuff?"

Is that helpful?
