This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

In this badge bit, you will harvest, dry and store ginger root

You need to dry enough to make a tea, infusion or decoction.

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must post:
- a picture of your fresh herbs being harvested
- a picture of your herbs drying (hanging, in a dehydrator, or in a bag, etc)
- a picture of your herbs in a sealed and labelled container.
    - label shows where the herbs came from, the date and method of drying.

I harvested my ginger plants before it gets too cold. I cut off all the foliage, stripped off brown leaves, put in bunches and hung from my garage roof. The leaves make a lovely infusion. I know this isn’t root and I’ll process the roots for this BB.

Question:

Other BBs for Natural Medicine dealing with ginger allow for store-bought ginger if it doesn't grow well in your area. For example, this BB: https://permies.com/wiki/164656/pep-natural-medicine/Ginger-syrup-gummies-PEP-BB

Will you allow store-bought ginger for this BB? I'm drying the peelings from my ginger syrup to use later in tea so nothing is wasted.

Did the drying of ginger root for the badge, had posted it in PEA for approval and it's been a few months. Wondering if I post it here, then I can get the BB approved this way!
