Here is my submission for the Natural Medicine Aspect - Sand for Straw - Create a Peppermint Leaf Infused Oil BB.

I harvested peppermint at my sister's house this year and started the infusion two weeks ago.  I combined 0.6 ounces of dried peppermint with 11.7 ounces of organic olive oil in a pint mason jar.

Since I wanted to finish the oil in two weeks instead of 4-6 weeks, I decided to break out the crockpot and heat the oil-mint mixture for approximately 12 hours.  I also transferred the mixture to a quart jar and added 5 more ounces of oil because the mint was not free-floating.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
    - harvesting peppermint leaf
    - making the infused oil
    - finished infused oil in a labeled jar

I need something to practice with my daughter when it comes to brushing her teeth and not immediately sucking the toothpaste off her brush. Mint infused coconut oil in place of toothpaste is what we're trying next. I started with a small batch to see how it goes before I make more.

I air-dried the mint, gently heated the coconut oil on the stove, crumbled the mint into the warm oil, and let it steep for a few hours.
