We are having a couple of issues with hotmail/outlook and gmail getting our emails and would love your help to see how often this is occurring and how to fix this as best we can.

Hotmail/outlook
It would be great to get one of the following responses:

H1) It would be super helpful to know if you regularly receive through permies emails to a hotmail and/or outlook address.  E.G. "H1) Yes, I receive them through fine".
H2) Can you let us know below if NO, you have a hotmail/outlook address as your permies email and you don't receive through emails that you should.
H3) Or NO, you have a hotmail/outlook address as your permies email and you sometimes get through permies emails, you sometimes don't.

Gmail:
It would be great to get one of the following responses:

G1) It would be really helpful to know if you regularly receive through permies emails to a gmail address.  If you do - can you let us know below.
G2) Can you let us know below if NO, you have a gmail address as your permies email and you don't receive through emails that you should.
G3) Or NO, you have a gmail address as your permies email and you sometimes get through permies emails, you sometimes don't.

For all instances, can you also check your spam and mark any permies emails that appear there as 'not spam' so we can try to make moves to avoid this happening in the future - please also let us know, in this thread, what email was in your spam folder, so we can see what is triggering the spam filter.

Also, if anyone has recommendations of how we can help Gmail and hotmail/outlook recognise our emails as 'not spam' we'd love to hear! We are discussing this in a different thread HERE if you have any insights.

G1 (though I would only notice *not* getting an email under pretty specific circumstances. There's nothing from Permies in my spam-catcher right now at least.)

G1 here. Though I checked my spam and was surprised to find a dailyish from April 27th in there. I marked it as not spam and moved on.

Hi Thea, that's great that you are receiving through our regular 'bulk' emails. However, part of the problem with hotmail is that it seems to be bouncing/rejecting emails that we send outside of the bulk emails.  So emails that I send from julie@permies.com to hotmail addresses are rejected.  I just tried to email your hotmail from julie@permies.com and I got a rejection notice

We are now discussing this hotmail issue here: https://permies.com/wiki/216974/hotmail-Techy-wizards-step

Perfect, thanks Jeremy!  Part of the gmail issue seems to be that sometimes the odd email gets marked as spam, even though the user has been interacting positively with permies' emails for a long time. So I'm trying to narrow down what it is flagging as spam.  It's helpful to know these things :)

So the dailyish from April 27th had this title: wood; yodeling; solar; hive; ptj - does that seem like the one you found in spam?

Yes, it's a good point Christopher.  If you do ever get the chance to randomly look at your spam folder and happen to see any permies emails in there, it would be great to mark them as 'not spam' and then leave a short note in this thread to let us know what the email was.  As I'm trying to gather together information about which emails are going to spam, to work out what is triggering the gmail spam filter.  Thanks for all your help!
