Have you had a chance to dig around your plot to get an idea of what's underground?

The quick answer is no. Once I have some spare time and energy I intend to make it up there and gather much more information.

I've only hiked it a few times. The borders are still not completely confirmed. A building frame was set up for me this past summer, but I have yet to do much more than stack the materials for the rest of the build inside it.

First time fetching gravel this year, and what a day it's been...! Plenty of moving parts with which I can make mistakes.

You can tell the seasons are changing, since it's time for us to remove the back blade from the tractor and store it up at the Lab. Here it is, next to the box blade: another tractor implement.

After removing the back blade, I linked the dump trailer to the tractor. Then commenced the slow-and-steady trek back to Basecamp.

Once I refueled the tractor and brought the trailer back down to Basecamp, I linked it up to Judy. She had a near-complete overhaul over the winter, thanks to the concerted efforts of guests, Boots, SEPPers, stand-in High Commanders, and finally a mobile mechanic. She's a trooper!

To make a long story short: I made it back with the gravel. And Paul came to the rescue when I was nearly stalled-out in the driveway. He chocked the wheels, advised me on how to gear and guide Judy up the rest of the driveway, then directed me so I could back the trailer onto the pad in front of the Classroom. All like it ain't no thing. Dude is cool as a cucumber.

What a full afternoon...! And we have gravel...!

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

Saw this little rhubarb bud peeping out in the rain this morning. Spring is springing...!

Meanwhile, I set to work mixing together some "potting soil" for the Boot Team GAMCOD 2025 plot. I want to start some seeds indoors this year. After mixing what I'd gathered earlier this week, I was nonplussed with the results and went back to the Lab to pick up more organic matter.

Still not very impressive (and right now, very wet due to rainfall), but at least it has some texture and likely a little more drainage. We'll see. I'll pot a few seeds tomorrow, then set them on the mass of the heater in the Fisher Price House, and will hope for the best.

Meanwhile, I also engaged in one of my more meditative practices today: digging a trench! I further roughed-out the trench I'd started this past December, alongside the Classroom. The excess material I'd moved out will be cleared of big rocks, then used to shape the driveway so that there are fewer puddles. This is all a far cry from the ambitious earth-moving plans Paul has envisioned for the parking lot (as in, an overall lowering of the level of the parking lot by a foot and a half), but in the meantime this project may be useful.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!
