!!!! SEPP to Boot: Stephen's Experience (BEL)

Spent a Saturday hangin' at Basecamp instead of gallivanting around town. Totally worth it.

Thanks to Dez for prepping the House's bunk room for my paint job today.



The other highlight of the day so far was my first-ever poly dough experiment...! I typically pick up vegan donuts whenever I visit Missoula, so since I spent the day at home I deliberated over what I'd make to compensate. I made the poly dough mix Friday night, then slept on it.

...Slept on the idea of how to use the poly dough - not on the poly dough itself!!!



After procrastinating all morning long, I decided to make sourdough-ish cinnamon raisin pancakes. Here's one of 'em now.



After the first set was taste-tested by Dez and myself, he suggested that I add a bit of water to the mix. This resulted in a much more forgiving pancake batter, and the rest of the batch went smoothly.

A rainy Monday, and an enjoyable start to the week.

This past Friday, Cat and I noticed that there was a downed fence and gate over at Allerton Abbey, so the team headed over there today for the repair job. There turned out to be two gates busted by something. Here's one of them.



Aggressive deer? The black bear we spotted on the trail cams a couple weeks ago? Not sure. We saw deer tracks inside the Abbey fence, but not bear tracks.

Anyhow, we powered through the increasing precipitation to finish 90% of the downed junkpole fence. Here's how things looked close to the start of it.



Dez did some fancy shaping and crafted this pair of supports for the lower segment of the damaged fence.



In the afternoon, Cat, Owen and I moved forward on the battery box project, and made sizeable progress. We ought to be able to finish this tomorrow. Here it is in its current state, held more secure with a ratchet strap.

Happy Taco Tuesday to you...!

Repairs on the junkpole fence at Allerton Abbey are complete! We finished them in the first half of the day today.





In the second half of the day, among other things we continued work on the battery box project. We installed the "second floor" and the inverter. SEPPer Jeff stopped by to provide feedback and additional guidance as we near the finish line on this one.



Finally: some of the plants from last week's Indoor Gardening Day Half-Assed Holiday are sprouting! Things are looking good. Here's a rosemary plant.



Tomorrow is Appleseed Day. Lots of tree seeds are going into the ground tomorrow. A batch of poly dough was whipped-up so we can bake all sorts of tasty apple goodies. I am stoked...!
