Yep, those black walnuts are in their own space. The pecans we put in the soil yesterday are a bit away from them.

Re-acquainted myself with Missoula today. Dropped-off some of Paul's books at Home ReSource, and visited a couple Little Free Libraries.

Here's a bridge along the Clark Fork Nature Path, which follows the southern bank of the Clark Fork River.

There's another Missoula Community Garden (and attendant Little Free Library) along 2nd Street, just south of the Clark Fork. I'll be passing by through the year to see how they're coming along.

Across the street from their Community Garden, it looks to me like they're tapping some maples. This one's marked #20, and it's part of perhaps three dozen trees in the same general area with these little bags.

Finally: more progress on the outdoor shed projects, at the high school with the coolest name ever.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

Sometime this morning during the Cleaning Blitz, it started... snowing.

The snow was over almost as quickly as it began. In fact, it melted almost completely. I thought it would be over and forgotten by lunchtime. However, it began snowing once again. Eventually, I kind of just ignored it and started up the library's rocket mass heater.

I also decided to start a wood-burning sign project. I dug out my unfinished house sign project from months ago. It's the third of three signs needed for the kitchen. This one will point out the location of the Landfill can.

It's not finished yet, and today's work came and went in fits and starts, just like the snow. It's been an okay finish to my first week back at Wheaton Labs.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

What a beautiful patterning of snow in the paving, and a lovely reason to fire up the RMH

Snowed again last night after a bit of freezing rain. There was just enough to make everything look novel and lovely again.

Ava cut down her first tree today. She did well with bucking it, too.

In the afternoon, Ava and I planted more pecans, this time within the fenced perimeter of Allerton Abbey up at the Lab. This photo looks kinda terrible, but hopefully the idea comes across.

Finally: shout-out to Mike Haasl, whose roundwood outdoor stairwell build film was released today...! It was cool to watch it take shape again, and all the familiar faces who chipped in on the process. I use that set of stairs every day.

You should buy a copy.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day...!

I claim this furniture in the name of The Ottoman Empire! You can keep this tiny ad:
