IMO, "70s sound" would refer to a unique fadish sound, something that would be discarded early in the 80s in favour of the next thing. I think Bee Gees hits that nail on the head.

I was thinking it was my "angle grinder meets finger" anniversary yesterday. My forearm decided to get in on the celebration, it seems... The tools were plenty sharp, I think. Maybe I just ought to be more careful. We'll see if old age is creeping up on me next December, when I start fresh on one of these again.

Paul specifically requested some replacement kitchen spoons, so there's still time this year to slash myself up thoroughly. I'll try to be more careful.

Oh wow... I got into Pink Floyd late, and it was even this past summer when I was obsessed with "Wish You Were Here." I still want to cover that song on kazoo or something one of these days.

I actually found frost inside my car today. I think that was a first.



On my weekly pilgrimage to the cafe' I noticed someone had dropped off a bagel for the birds.



Though the canal is dry, the ducks are still hanging around. Someone must be feeding them quite well for them to want to stick around instead of snowbird it down to New Mexico or something...



Finally: brought out some of the decorations in preparation for tomorrow's Christmas Decorating Day. There's my Christmas sock!!! It's still so lovely.



Also: saw "Jingle All The Way" today for the first time, at the Roxy Theatre in Missoula. It was a bizarre experience for me, but I guess I shouldn't think about it too hard. I'd prefer to see Schwarzenegger chopping bandits' heads off with a broadsword or something. But the last 15 minutes were where he clearly felt at home. Still, there was a lot of awkwardness and cringe-factor going on for me.

Happy Christmas Decorating Day to you...!

Headed out to begin my tree search, and spied the trail of some of the ugliest, scrawniest reindeer I'd ever seen...



Made it up to the Lab during a break in the snow and rain. Decided to take home the small tree I'd spotted a couple weeks ago.



Back at Basecamp, SEPPer Julia and I set it up in the house. Here it is about 75% decorated.



The stockings were hung by the cubbies with care.



Finally: decorating the tree was completed, along with the placement of the xmas menagerie: Christmas Yoda, Four-Horned Goat, Sewer Urchin, and Iron Ant.

Christmas decoration continued into today: a rainy, weird-weather kind of day. I enjoyed hiking across the Lab in it. Brought back some pine boughs for wreaths and garland. The RAV smells wonderful right now.





Here's a wreath now on one of the doors to the Library.



Here's what I've done so far to the paddock gate. There's garland and a wreath on there now, and the cats already love climbing all over them. I'm hoping to find some outdoor fairy lights to add a little twinkle. We'll see what happens.
