On this occasion, my friend has a bad stomachache, but did not elaborate on any symptoms beyond that. She said it's not a terrible reaction this time, so it's more a general question about what to suggest if she or another family member has a lactose reaction, with any number of the above symptoms, when I'm handy in the future. I was thinking mainly about inflammation and cramping, but seeing your long list here gives me pause; I wonder if it would make more sense to think in terms of treating each symptom rather than considering it a simple, but specific, overreaction to be calmed or 'neutralized'?
