Every now and again fashions in personal care and beauty swing round... I (thought I) had a big bum as a young woman - that seems to be the fashion now. I couldn't be bothered to go to the hairdresser - and long straight hair became the trend (I do myself a buzz cut now, so watch this space!).

Now naked nails are apparently in!

Although mine, I have to admit are ususally a bit grubbier than these! Anyone got tips on how to get dirt out from under the nails? I seem to remember using a white pencil to make them look cleaner as a teenager. I could do with some tips on how to look less like a gardener when I'm in my food shop.

Ha! I hear you. Big practical black boots like mine are apparently "in" right now, too!

Not very helpful, but hand-kneasing dough is a great way to get ingrained dirt out from around your nails (guess how I know that?!).

Anyone got tips on how to get dirt out from under the nails?

Well Nancy, you clearly need to do more dish washing😀

I keep my nails pretty short so there's less to hold dirt....I have some orange sticks that last forever and don't seem to hurt like cleaning with metal...dishwashing does the rest.
My fingernails are ok but toenails from going barefoot are harder for me to clean....I often wondered if that was the attraction to fingernail polish, if that was a coverup?

I use a nail file that is on my nail clippers.

Sometimes when I wash my hands I try to get the suds up under my fingernails.

Where I live going to the nail salon and getting fingers and toes done is a really big and expensive thing.
