Wow 80,000! Sounds like it was down to the last second too! Exciting! I don't think I even know the last stretch goals. I'll have to go have a look. Congrats! Looking forward to it!

Noob here, never used Kickstarter before. So was wondering when does our card get charged and when do we get our items? I did not even get an email so I do not remember if it was 60.00 or 80.00 US currency. GoFundMe always sends an email. So I am lost here.
I know the main DVD will not be September or when ever it is done and with some of the micro. Is there anything that gets sent out right away?

On July 26th, I got an email from Kickstarter saying "Yes! Rocket Ovens Feature Length Documentary has been successfully funded."  It gave me details on my pledge.

The kickstarter is now closed but the pre-sell is up for the HD Streaming version of the DVD. You can purchase it now and have access when it is up likely sometime in September. Here is a link to it: Rocket Oven Documentary

Thank you Daron!  I bought it.

Hello, Julia, now I am more concerned in the sense of my support being official because I checked everything before I even posted and just now and still nothing, sigh. On July 5  and every week since I joined and purchased I got junk emails from Kickstarter project but nothing confirming anything. A note on the page I believe said that when the project was funded I would get charged. Since I have not heard anything and being new to Kickstarter I thought I would check here because I really want the package I requested to support. Looking forward to building my outside kitchen next year.

Email isn't a perfect communication medium, check your funding card statements for a withdrawal from Kickstarter in the total amount you pledged (including the shipping)

I confirmed mine was tapped late July

haha what a shitty program, or at least it is giving me grief today. Never thought to log in to verify anything since it said I would be notified by you when the program ended. Anyway, I go to log in and it wants my email but only ask for my pw. So something is all screwed up. if anyone has a link to customer service for Kickstarter that would be awesome. But it seems they took my info and cc info but then did not sign me up for the one I choose?

I searched the backer stuff on the kickstarter for "pamela" and for your permies.com email address - nothing.

I finally got into my Kickstarter account. they have me as a member but all my info is gone. I remember so clearly that even when it came to shipping, being a Canadian they wanted to charge me to ship it to my Canadian address and so I changed it to my US address to reduce my cost.PLus they kept switching from US funds to Canadian funds hence why I got confused on which package I purchased. After I finished the info they said I would be charged after the program was done and hence why I never looked into it further until it was finished. Looking at the program closed and only in US funds it was the 80.00 Anyway is there a way to still get the program I thought I was getting?

Is it possible that you have two different accounts on kickstarter?

No, I only signed up once. I used my business email. I have never used Kickstarter before. Only gofundme. It is all good. It is what it is. It now claims I have never backed a program. To think I followed for almost a month with excitement and anticipation. oh well. Life is too busy to pursue this. If there is a way to still get the 80US project that would be awesome, I could send an etransfer, otherwise I guess I am SOL. Off to my garden. Much success to you Paul.

Kickstarter sent me an email about an hour after the campaign ended saying that they charged my card.

I don't have my spam filter turned on.

Ranson, that is what I was expecting as well because of the info that was told/sent to me after I purchased the 80.00. Somewhere between the posting of what I want and verification until now, Kickstarter lost my info. I even remember plugging in my CC info. Who knows how often something like this happens I just know that IF I ever have to use Kickstarter again I will be sure to check weekly until the program is over so I can be sure next time. For me it was not just about supporting permies it was about getting a collection of info to make my outside kitchen, watching the money go up and I am like come on, just a little more, I want that dryer plan, lol Usually, fund programs offer better deals than buying right out so I thought here is my chance for a good deal and support something I believe in. Paul does a great job with the extras. Makes it fun too.

hey!! I got my kickstarter reward email!!  one question though -i thought that when the kickstarter hit a certain amount, that meant that everyone who backed would get the plans for the solar dehydrator?  that wasn't on my list!  :fingers crossed:

I found out i could send the surveys early.  That way people have lots of time to put together their names for the videos and stuff.

I am going to try to put the first rewards out tomorrow even though we are a long ways away from kickstarter getting everything sorted out.

The rewards were based on what you purchased. Some were 15.00 some were for 40.00 or more. Check out the specific rewards and see how much was needed for that reward. Many emails went out mentioning the amount needed for purchase.

Let's keep it simple. How about:

Scott and Mary Zechman

Thanks Paul

This was posted on July 27th. Maybe I can get a large font in the credits of the next kickstarter, which of course, I will gladly donate! 😁

Scott,

paul wheaton wrote:I hope I remember to add you, but I know that what seems to always happen is that we have to put it off as long as we can - to give people a chance to provide their clever names.   So it is the very last thing before the dvd goes to the printer.   And then at the last second, we grab the names, put them in the credits, render the final product and send it to the printer.  So I am worried that I will not do the "oh wait, remember there was one guy where things were a bit wonky -- let's look that up, find the person, ask them what name they want, wait for a response ...."   So, maybe if you post it right here, right now, the odds of it actually going in go up a pinch.

Getting the names into stuff turned into a big deal.   I suspect that if it was simple, there is a chance we would have remembered to get you added in, but as is, it was turned into a big deal just to get the names in for the accounts with the names provided in the huge mass of spreadsheets.

She laughed at how small it was, and now it is even smaller. Poor tiny ad:
