38 DWF in NE WA state looking for the Hawkeye to my Cora

Well, "looking" might be the wrong way to put it :) I know it's a crapshoot, I'm mostly kind of hoping I might find a local permie since I am not really relocatable.

I'm actively homesteading on my 20 acres out here in Northeastern WA state. I do intend to relocate someday, most likely to the Missouri Ozarks, but that's up in the air at the moment.

I've got poultry, meat rabbits, and am getting milk goats in a few days actually. I'm building my home as I go, out of pocket, so it is definitely a work in progress. I've been here for about 5 years and love it. When I moved into my house, it was just walls and a wood stove for heat & cooking. No power, no water, not even interior walls. I've slowly been finishing it as I go and am almost done except some of the siding and trims. I'm halfway off grid - still not sure if I want to connect fully or just get my own setup.

I am a single mom, divorced, with three kids that live with me and go to their dad's every other weekend. We get along fine, so no "ex drama." I'm a self employed graphic designer - I create artwork for businesses to use on decorative items like t-shirts and home decor. I love what I do and I'm able to work part-time and make a full-time income which leaves me free for a better work/life balance. Politically I'm a Libertarian, and spiritually I guess I'm a Christian heretic (basically a Christian who doesn't do the whole conservative Christian culture thing).

I'm a hard worker, pretty independent, active, driven & very goal oriented, and dedicated. I tend to be empathic and I have very high standards. I love reading, gardening, cooking and baking. I don't watch a ton of TV but I do like scifi/action/geeky type movies.  I'm definitely creative but also pragmatic and logical. I'm an INTP. I am very independent but tend to be pretty easygoing and flexible and most of the time I just go with the flow.

I'm looking for someone likeminded who is intelligent, self motivated, ambitious and an out of the box thinker. He has goals in life, and is actively working towards achieving them. Someone who is looking for an actual equal partner (and not just someone to be his mom and/or sugar momma). He'll be secure enough to not be threatened by a woman who is independent and is her own person. I'd also prefer mid-30s to mid-40s in terms of age.

I was on my way to work as head grower on  a pot farm in San Diego when, after some time I withdrew my interest in that to pursue my real ambition.

in the meantime we've been staying at my ex-wife and her new partner & family's home (no ex-drama here either) here in Northern California.

I'm 43, 5'11, in good shape, pretty intelligent, intuitive, innovative and a waaaay out of the box thinker. I home school my son.

I am going to look at a few places around here for the farm but am totally open to travel up north to meet the woman of my dreams.

I am looking for the life your living, I so want a simple off grid life with some one who isn't afraid of that lifestyle. most women I meet aren't interested in it at all. I am 37 years old, single, no kids but always wanted to be a father, I have a 5 month old dog named fern. I have many life skills that could be used on a off grid farm. I am an open book just ask away, I am not the kind of person who judges, labels, leaches off others. Little about me: I am 46 yrs old, I am an old school Anarchist Punk (though don't limit myself to punk music), spiritually nonreligious, I was a fine arts major and prolific artist until all my art supplies were stolen 10 yrs ago and haven't drawn since, my daughter is gown and married, I have lived and traveled all over the country (expect the South they have big bugs that are scary) but always came back to the Pac NW, and there is so much more but how do you explain yourself to someone other than say ask if you want to know more.

I have to say I really liked your post, especially you wanting an equal partner. So many people want someone to complete them, like they aren't whole by themselves.

Isn't it weird how we often live in areas where there are tons of likeminded people yet we have a hard time finding those other single folks because we're all too busy up on our mountain (or whatever) homesteading? LOL.

Hey Bryan - no I don't, not really. If you're looking to get out of craziness I'm not sure I'd recommend WA state! LOL. Depends on your politics. Washington is becoming more and more freedom encumbering as time goes along. My particular area is great but there's been a lot of people moving to the area so not a ton of available places to move. Bethany, that's a great way to put it.  The I-5 corridor determines everything without regard to the rest of the state.  Once we're down to just the two of us, we'll be making for the border and our forever home. Bryan, you might try one of the Dakotas -- low taxes, a lot of vets, hard working folk.  Land is not cheap, but it's reasonable as long as you don't need a big house. Or closer to home, the Jacksonville area is lovely, and Permaculture Jax is a large community of people from all different walks of life that really do try to help each other.  See their FB here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/376132752470842/
