This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

For this BB, you will create thyme syrup or gummies using plant material you harvested.

Minimum requirements:
  - Create syrup and/or gummies
  - Use thyme

To document completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pictures or a video (< 2 minutes):
 - Harvested plant material (either being harvested or just harvested)
 - Making the syrup and or gummies with a description or link to the recipe you used
 - Finished syrup or gummies in a labeled container

Clarifications:
 - Honey infusions do not qualify for this BB

In this recipe, I used Thyme from my garden, onion, gumweed and enough honey to cover the chopped herbs. They  cooked together in a saucepan over low heat, until bubbly. All of these are soothing to a sore throat and/or excess phlem.

I made a thyme decoction by simmering fresh thyme in water for 20 minutes. To 1 cup of decoction, I added 1/4 sugar and simmered until the liquid was reduced by half. I ended up with 4 oz (1/2 cup) of thyme syrup, and I like it better than I thought I would.

Thyme syrup

I took my thyme decoction and added honey while it was still warm (about 2 TBSP) and shook it to combine. I really like it!!

Edited to add the correct photo of the completed syrup.

Note: Hey Cheryl, I like all you did. Usually, the syrup is cooked with the sweetener. It helps to hit at least a soft ball stage in order to make the syrup shelf stable. That's not at all in the bb requirements, so that's just for info for your next batch. However, the requirements do state that you need a recipe or link to one. As the approver, please make it easy on me in the future, and label the recipe part of your post

This tastes good!!

Created a syrup from my thyme decoction. Recipe is 1 cup decoction to 1/4 cup sugar, boiled down.

I could see this being extra yummy if you had a cough or also in any drink that has lime juice in it.
