Boots in the past have lacked discipline, and I'd say it's reasonable and natural that anyone who's not a hardcore grass-hater would lack discipline from time to time.
As it stands, we're going to attack areas in "waves" so long as grass persists.
Paul has mentioned that when the hugels were first started at Basecamp, like 12 years ago, grass was deliberately planted on them since they were brand-new and required something to hold the dirt in place to help them establish themselves. Now the grass is no longer needed and it's a hudred-years' war to attempt to remove it.
So is it effective? We'll find out. I'd like to think the term "goat mode" is more like a Stephen-saying to describe chop n' drop.
