Hello
I've been lurking on the permaculture and homesteading sub reddits and finally decided to join here.
I'm 37 and single. Currently living in the PNW, travel through OR and WA quite a bit and love the Columbia River Gorge
Ive worked the last 17 years in information technology and the stress has really started to take a toll on my health. Ive decided that i need to step away sooner rather than later

I value quality over quantity and despise the single use world that we are moving towards. I think that the electric cars will do more damage to environment in the long run.

I absolutely love living in the mountains, ive been fortunate to be able to for the last few years.

I'm looking for somewhere to volunteer/labor at to let my mind and body heal

I have skills in all things mechanical and engineering. (Construction, Electrical, Plumbing etc)
I love working with my hands and seeing results at the end of the day.
I'm going to be the quietest person you may ever meet.
I have severe social anxiety and also deal with ADHD. I've found manual labor helps tremendously.

If you know of anywhere thats looking for laborers please let me know.
Im also looking for some friends, the people around me dont value the same things that i do. After reading quite a few posts i think ive found a home.

Hi Cliff,
I lurked for quite a while before I posted and waited quite a while before posting further once I went down the research rabbit hole I was led on by responses to that post :)
I'm glad you are finding it welcoming here.

Hi Cliff,
I have some mountain property in southern Oregon, outside of Ashland. If you’re interested in checking out the southern PNW, there may be a fit here for you. You can check out my other posts and PM me.
Good luck.

I have 2 acres on the edge of Tacoma.  Housing could be a fix-yourself trailer, teardrop, or tent. Feels very rural, 3 blocks to a major bus line, and 1 mile to I-5.

Large garden, hummingbird garden, pollinator garden, fruit tree guilds, large meadow.

Need help with moving chips, mowing, clearing more garden space, adding rain harvesting and rain garden, planting a blueberry guild, and finishing a greenhouse. Many opportunities to earn SKiP badges.

Single, disabled, queer mom to non-binary 20yo, we are both autistic.  This is a safe place to heal.

Hey Cliff, we have a 160acre permaculture homestead located in far SE Oregon, on the Alvord desert at the base of the Steens mountain. My wife and I have been seeking the right person to join our little homestead. We are extremely rural (2hrs to nearest city) and are working on doing all we can to as sustainable as possible. This is a safe space that all are welcome, if this at all sounds interesting send me a DM and we can talk specifics.

Are you still looking for somewhere? I’m working on starting a community on Whidbey Island, outside Seattle. I already have 5 acres with a house and utilities, and am looking for people who want to help make it even more amazing. I am currently renting out campsites on Airbnb/Hipcamp to make ends meet and hopefully meet people.
