I'm not shy but I just ordered and will find creative ways to give these books away. Paul, did I see that you might autograph one for my collection?

The books at the shipper are all unsigned.

I think somewhere around here I might have a few books that shawn and I signed for the kickstarter peeps.  We signed extras just to make sure all people were happy.  I suppose that aspect is all done.

I'm a bit pressed for time the next few weeks.  I take it you would like me to figure out how to get one signed book to you?  I know people normally charge more for signed book stuff, but I never really learned that thing.

DairyCreekCommunityFoodWeb has a free library for Farmers, Gardeners and Foodies. We are always looking for books to add to our collection! Do you recommend your offered collection? As a 10-year old non-profit organization.  we are always working to feed hungry people: expanding our Food Pantry Garden, Gleaning program, sustainable school gardens, celebrating harvests and holding Gardening & Cooking classes…etc, thanks for your free books idea!

Hi Paul
No, if it would cause extra work please do not go to any trouble. I will enjoy your book just the same!
Thank you!

Earth day is a month away.

What are fresh ideas for a shy person to give away 12 copies?

Where I live, there is a robust network of little free libraries scattered around the village/town. That would be my first drop off locations.

I have plans on making a farm stand. I would reckon the people picking up veggies/eggs might be interested in permaculture or permaculture-adjacent subjects so having them for available as a grab item might hit a more targeted audience.

I like to echo the previous posts about donating a copy or two to a local library system.

It has been a long time since I read this thread so I hope my thoughts are some fresh ideas:

Setting up a booth at a Farmer's Market or a Flea Market would easily get the book into the hands of 12 people.

Have a Book Promotions here on the forum.

I have read that there is a way to give books away on Amazon.

We made a flyer to go in the 12 books boxes. What do you think? Is it clear? What else would you add?

Thanks for the feedback!!

We gave our 12 copies away at Homeschool Co-op. Lots of excited home-schooling families eager to use the book as part of their children's education!
My 30 yr old daughter was so inspired, she developed a Summer Camp curriculum based on the book (for kids 8-14).

Go to an organic farming and gardening meeting, give the box of books to someone at the front desk, and depending on shyness quotient, either run away and have pre-written note inside box "free book from Permies.com", or actually tell someone what they are supposed to do with them.

My company, W.E.B. Permaculture, is partnering with a Permaculture Design Instructor to soon offer a Permaculture Design Course in North Texas. We'll be handing out the Better World Books and the Permaculture Playing Cards to the students.
