Nice timing as I've been watching how to build wattle and woven and living willow fences on YouTube over the past couple of weeks so looking forward to see what I can learn from the dismantling of one.

Just had a thought on why some of us don't get the reminder button when we go to youtube.  I don't have a youtube account, so I cannot comment or vote or anything other than watch videos on youtube.  Perhaps in order to remind us of the premier, they have to have our contact info (which I assume you have to give to sign up for an account.)  Thus those of us who are not logged in do not get reminder buttons... just a possibility.  Maybe someone who got the reminder button could chime in if they do not have a youtube account, and put me back in my place.

That could be the reason.  I'm still learning about yotube, thus the experiments.  

Yes, you need a YT account (its just your email address) to get all the bells & whistles.

It also means you can subscribe to your favourite channels and write supportive comments.

I've been trying to figure out how to tell how many people have the reminder set.  There doesn't seem to be an easy way - at least not at my level.  Youtube unlocks different features as your subscriber count grows.

But it's great having this thread so I can get an idea and see how many.

R, I loved it!! It was very informative, and I've thought about trying a keyhole, but lugging and stacking rocks is NOT my idea of a good time.  I've hesitated on wattle, because I thought within a year or two, they'd disintegrate, so that visual inspection was excellent information! All in all, very well done video - thank you for sharing!!

I'm impressed with how well the video is doing... but kind of regretting the promise I made the flock.  I promised if we got one thousand views in a week they would get a special mix of rice, peas, ham and all their favourites.  

We're already a quarter of the way there.

I should have set the number higher, but it seemed impossibly high at the time I made the promise.  

Of course, they get that treat anyway, but only as leftovers and usually have to share with the entire farm.  

What makes this a treat is they get the whole dish for themselves.  

This experiment did really well.

I was a bit worried we didn't have many people live at the premier, and this would reduce the number of views later in the week.  But the view count did really good for the first couple of days.  Broken my record!  Woot.

However, most of those views are external and youtube is having trouble figuring out who to show this video to.  So there will probably be a bit of a downswing while the algorithm figures this out.  Something you can do to help is to share with people who like gardening.  That way youtube can learn "they like gardening, they like this video" and it will have better long term growth.

I did promise my retirement flock a very special treat if the video gets to over 1k views by Wednesday night.  It looks like we're at 850 so far.  (although youtube does go through every so many hours and remove repeat and bot views)

John said he'd watch it, too - and he just subscribed.
