BEL #38 June 3, 2025 Tuesday

As with any Tuesday in the bootcamp, every moment is pre seasoned with the knowledge that tacos will be et. And better yet, it’s followed by ice cream. Don’t you forget. It’s okay if you do forget though, because i’ll remember. There is something deeply satisfying about trailmaking to me. It probably has to do with the ability to look back and clearly see the progress that has been made proportional to the effort you put in. Then when I put it into a time lapse and see what could have been hours of work compressed into minutes, I’m awed at the sight. So, suffice to say, there will be more time lapses. I’m even open to suggestions, as I don’t want any good time lapse ideas to be missed. Excuse me while I go record a time lapse of dinner. SC

In today’s video, you’ll see that we repaired the struggling tractor, which I have just named Kobe. There was a bug in the system. A literal bug in the fuel line was starving the engine and causing it to stall. I found the metaphor to be quite encouraging. Just one tiny little bug in the fuel line was able to cripple a giant powerful machine. Draw whatever conclusions you’d like from that. SC

Awesome job!  Not sure if this idea is worth adding in...

What about a log storage arrangement where you can put cut logs (bark on) on a few rails off the ground.  Ideally at a good height for peeling.  Cut trees all fall and winter and store them there.  When the bark slips in the spring, peel them all in a couple days and move them to a "roundwood staging area" nearby.
