So the kickstarter this year is tracking in a really similar pattern to the kickstarter last year.   And last year we started to hit several of the stretch goals, so the $100 level got loaded heavier and heavier.   And then more people started raising their backer level and more people jumped in.   And so on and so on ...    and then we ended up hitting 21 stretch goals.   So the people that supported the kickstarter at $100 and higher got 21 extra bonus things.

What if a few hundred people raised their backer level earlier?  Could that mean that those people might harvest 30 bonus things instead of 21?

Go to the project page, log in, it will offer to let you "manage your pledge" click that and you can increase it there.

I know this, because I upped mine the other day :D

Just make sure to up your pledge by selecting the new reward.  If you just type in dollars, then kickstarter thinks "oh, you want to pay $100 for the $10 thing?  That sounds good."   I wish that if you did that it would then say something like "Do you want the $100 level reward with that $100?"

Under a thousand dollars to stretch goal number 3!

So everybody that has backed at the $100 and up level will get these bonus goodies:

And here are the next few stretch goals after that:

$65,000 Rocket Oven Plans by Davin Hoyt
$70,000 "The High Art and Subtle Science of Scrounging" by James Juczak
$75,000 Sepp Holzer's 3-in-1 Permaculture Documentaries

$90,000 Six Tickets to the 2021 SKIP Event at Wheaton Labs
$95,000 "Building a Better World in Your Backyard" by Paul Wheaton (audiobook - 4 gift codes)
$100,000 Double the interior size of the greenhouse and add more tests

Above, there are 11 stretch goals. Here are the next ten stretch
goals we have nailed down - this would take us to 21 - the number we hit last year!:

The Sepp Holzer movie "Desert or Paradise" (NEW!)
All 54 issues of Living Woods Magazine
"The $50 and Up Underground House Book" by Mike Oehler
The movie "Make a Natural Swimming Pool" by David Pagan Butler (NEW!)
Water Harvesting & Soil Building Webinar with Michael Judd
Six Tickets to the 2021 Permaculture Technology Jamboree
"Wood Gasifier Builder's Bible: Turn Tree Branches into Biofuel in Minutes" by Ben Peterson (NEW!)
The movie "Voices of Transition" by Green Planet Films
The movie "Alternatives to Dentists" by The Grow Network
More logging thermometers and greywater microscopy equipment for the greenhouse (NEW!)

And here are a few more we have nailed down:

Increase the number of backers participating in this build from 3 to 6 (NEW!)
The movie "Abundance on Dry Land" by Green Planet Films (NEW!)
The movie "Saving the Life Keepers - The New Science of Sustainable Beekeeping" by Green Planet Films (NEW!)
A stay for two here at Wheaton Labs with a rocket mass heater (6 tickets)
     o allerton abbey

     o the red cabin
     o the love shack
Install three passive solar garden heaters at the lemon tree site (NEW!)

And there are about eight more that we are talking to folks about!

Jennifer and Josiah made a video about raising your backer level - cuz kickstarter thinks you like the idea of paying more for the smaller backer level.

Thank you Jennifer and Josiah for the helpful video on increasing a pledge on Kickstarter. I just did it and the process was very easy.
next time I'll just pledge the $100 from the very beginning. The stretch goal goodies get me every time!

Hi Paul, Please help me! I have not figured out how to contact you other than here. I have tried numerous times to change my visa card # for my kickstarter pledge &  I have had no luck. I only have my phone to work from & am very low tech. I watched the video about how to change my pledge, & have changed the $ amount from 10 to 25 yet have not been able to change the card. My other card is no longer valid, but I do want to back this kickstarter. Thank you. Khara

Khara,

I'm afraid I have no control over that.  I don't get to see anybody's card numbers.  I don't even get to see your email address on kickstarter until the card has been processed.

Send an email to support@kickstarter.com - that's what I do when I need to talk to a human over there.

This just in:

The earliest we can do the first design meeting is the morning of July 27th.  We earlier announced July 25th.

Kickstarter has changed a lot of stuff. Currently, we don't have access to backer email addresses. I get the impression that they will release the information immediately after the kickstarter is funded, so we can email folks with the information for the zoom meeting.

I know this might defeat the purpose / incentive of adding a new book, but if anyone is going to make use of a book on scrounging, it would be the backers who can't afford to pony up the $100.. - any chance of making it available to the $10 backers ?

Here is the book for a very humble $14:

https://permies.com/t/93610/Scrounging-eBook-James-Juczak

We have a new feature on permies called cbook - and I put my book up at half the ebook price.  Maybe you can make that suggestion in that thread?
