This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Natural Medicine.

For this BB, you will create an infusion of strawberry leaves. Infusion is a method of extracting desired compounds from plant material by steeping the material in hot or cold water, depending on the plant and its attributes.

To show you’ve completed this Badge Bit, you must post:
- a picture of your strawberry leaves being harvested
- a picture of the infusion being made
- a picture of the finished infusion

I learned about and  dried some strawberry leaves just in time to have my baby. Now I am thrilled to try them in a sitz bath infusion. I used fresh leaves this time because I had a helper to pick them for me, but I hope it feels just as good to use them dried next time. The astringent nature of the leaves felt amazing for over-stretched tissue down below. It made for an amazing sitz bath. I brewed a large pot of water, infused the leaves for half an hour (with some spearmint, which smelled great!) and then strained it all and dumped it in my bathtub. Ahhhh.....

Note: I didn't think about using strawberry leaves to my sitz bath after giving birth. Sounds like a great addition!

Strawberry tea/infusion made as a side to the berries. #usingeverything

Tasted kind of bland, but it was nice and warm. For later infusions I think I`ll mix it with other herbs.

I have to agree with Vegard about this infusion being not super exciting.  Maybe my expectations were set too high given how delicious strawberries are.  The infusion reminded me a bit of green leaf fireweed tea, but with a little less flavor.
