Install 30 Feet of Permanent Clothes Line - PEP BB nest.straw.clothesline

To give extra documentation that I can actually make these clotheslines, and because one of the poles was leaning way too much, I took it apart and put it back together again! Here it is taken apart:



I hauled some big rocks to prop it up straight



Annoying clothesline tightener was stuck, so I couldn't loosen the line to get it to go on the post. After oiling it, I loosened it about 6 feet so it could go onto the poll. Here I am oiling it with olive oil:



Top clothesline hung again



Lower clothesline needed to be untied to reach the other side



So I tied it again with a laundry knot and reinstalled it



And here it is with clothes on it!




I measured the lines I took apart and reassembled. They were 30+ feet one way (my tape measure only went to 25 feet, and there was still at least 5 feet to the other end of the line.) Since I can and do use both top and bottom of each line, that's 30+30+30+30 (not even counting the longer line that I didn't disassemble that's at least another 45 feet one way.)

I put up a clothesline in the laundry room.  We had one outside but it doesn't work so well in the winter.  There are 5 strings and they're each about 14' long.  I first put it up with 3 strings and then decided to add two more.

Equipment:

- 4 x eyelettes
- 50' of Cord
- Drill
- Screw Driver
- Exacto Knife

Area: Our gazebo! We can put clothes out if the weather is less than idea and if it gets windy (which it does!) at least we won't find them in with the chickens.


The length of one line is a little over 16 feet. I installed 2 lines.
