Write me music to bounce to?

I have been having a problem lately, I hope to find someone who would enjoy solving it. I am not a musician. I do, however like to sing while I work (off key, off time, and out of tune, generally.) I have been looking for songs that say what I want to be singing about, in a way I want to sing, and am not finding them. I’d love to have someone make me one!

My head likes bouncy music to work to, not calm and peaceful mellow music. Stuff that sings easy, even if you can't sing well, that sticks in your head and bubbles out. My mind wants things that are not geared for kids, that relate to what I do, that aren’t negative and toxic to my soul. I found an AWESOME band yesterday, Formidable Vegetable, out of Australia, electric swing permaculture music! And I’ll DEFINITELY buy all their work. They sing about permaculture basics, learning to observe, that there are patterns to the world, that composting and worms are great. Yes! But I don't need to be taught that. I  don't need to sing it every day. I KNOW this stuff already. I don't need it ingrained in me, it already is, deep in my soul. I need to be happy with where I am, and rejoicing in the things I do every day. I need a song I can sing at the chickens, and when I’m on the tractor.

I made up some very rough lyrics of what I’d like to sing about:

Sun is up, cool breeze from the west
Chickens scratch, eating all the bugs
Goats peer over the fence, hoping for treats
Dogs and kids run and chase each other
I love living on the land!

And I’m

.....Cutting herbs for dinner

The kind of tune I’d love something like that set to would have the bouncy, energetic, singable quality of songs like:
Crocodile Rock - Elton John
Rock and Roll Never Forgets - Bob Seger
Kodachrome - Paul Simon
And I tried to pick a Jimmy Buffett song to list, but could only narrow it down to six or so   Desperation Samba, One Particular Harbor, A Pirate Looks At Forty, Brown Eyed Girl, Piece of Work, Knees of My Heart, School Boy Heart, Cinco De Mayo In Memphis... But without his lyrics about bars, etc, I just don't relate to them.

Anyone think this would be fun to play with?

Almost any of this could be done to the tune of Push It, by Salt and Pepa. Or there's the No Doubt song Hella Good. Tupac did one called California.

I've seen people bouncing to all of these.

I thought of you yesterday, Formidable Vegetable has a song called "No Such Thing As Waste"  As a fairly serious dumpster diver I always enjoy reading your stories, I have those too, I don't make it my primary job these days, but I do more than the average human considers normal So this is for you to bounce to while you work!

I do like music, nice songs to sing ... but I love the singing of the wild birds even more!

I can't write music either but I take songs I love the tunes of and rewrite the words. I have a song to calm the bees courtesy of Simon and Garfunkle, garden songs that come from a wide range of artists and genres and songs for the ducks that come from Come on Get Happy and Girls Girls Girls. I even rewrote Feeling' Groovy, S & G again, for the mushrooms. Your lyrics are great, maybe just alter them a bit for a song you love.

Although if you are looking for a great garden song band you could try Ma Muse. Some of their stuff is more bouncy than others.

There's a band.. Gaelic Storm, that I listen to a lot when I'm working.  Their song, Darcy's Ass (its about a donkey) gives you a good idea of what most of their music sounds like.

Generally both Irish jigs and sea shanties are designed for people to move to. I have a lot of both on my Pandora line up.

I, too, adapt a lot of songs to what I want, rewrite lyrics all the time. Have a lovely rewrite of "Royals" for my chickens ("and all the birds are like berk berk, bug bug, pooping in the back yard, did dig, fluff fluff, rolling in the dirt ... we don't care, we drive the tractor in our dreams!!") But it's a problem with my brain (there's damage from seizures etc, it's not Asperger's but something on the autism/Asperger's spectrum) that every time I sing a song like that, I hear the original in my head too. So if I start with something like (no insult to Dale) Salt and Peppa's Push (which I listened to, good bouncy song, horrifying thing to want in my head) I'll hear it every time I sing. I hate the song Royals, someone played it for me, and it got in my head. I wrote the chickens a song, and now I hear Royals every time I sing at the birds. And I hate that song. I don't want it in my head. I want good things in my head these days.

This is why I am still hoping someone can write me a tune that has no associations with it, so my head can start fresh. I know there are people out there who can do it easily, if I wanted to deal with an ex of mine, he could. I, alas, cannot. I can only mutilate other people's songs.

I have listened to all the things people said, and have more of it that I have associated off of them that I'm still digging through. And I appreciate it all Some excellent stuff in there!

Still wish I could find someone who can write me stuff I want to hear in my head. I have been reworking songs again, and I hear their appalling lyrics every time I sing the songs... I want to change the old programming in my brain, and I need to start with a clean slate.

Another good one, I'll be cutting the beginning off this song, I don't need to hear how messed up the world is, I KNOW how messed up it is...

I have been having a hard time finding any music I can stand, again. Tripped over a band (The Dead South) that I love their music, HATE their lyrics and have been looking again, and failing again to find things I want to sing while I work. It's bubbling out into me killing other people's songs again, with the problem being when I do that, I hear the original in my head every time I sing my version. But it at least bubbled up amusingly yesterday, I have been down very sick, and the work has gotten piled up deep, so, to the tune of Simon and Garfunkel's "Feelin' Groovy" I offer Pearl Sutton's "Feelin' Wussy"

Scott : Yup, that would be the Dead South song that first caught my ears :) I read lyrics of at least 40 of their songs, just nothing I care to hear, drinking whiskey and bar fights and women... Blah.  Love the bounce in it though :) Love the string work in Traveling Man, but that's not one I can sing, even if I liked the words, so it doesn't catch in my brain. They have a fun style though. Just not my taste in words. I'd love to see them live, bet they have a great show.
