When using my old Android phone, if I select the "My Profile" button at the bottom, then I can see the "My Stuff" button at the top.
Does that work on anyone elses mobile?
Desktop view is too tiny for me to read.

Didn't see this asked in the thread so I'll post it.

So I suck and went on vacation for three weeks.  Upon my return, I discovered this survey and that you reaped the addresses on the survey about 20 days ago.

I went and filled out the survey today, but are you going to reap the list of respondents again before shipping?
(I am, in fact, getting physical DVDs.)

David

Yes, we get a fresh download from Kickstarter just before we ship.

hI PAUL;
For those of us outside the US, who paid the 175 and selected WDG ... is the WDG access coming  as one of those "wonky" situations sorted at the very end? or is it comming soonish??
Since the WDG material is all ready thought perhaps giving the access would be easy and fast since is just granting access.
I'm really keen on WDG
thks!

Carlos,

lots and lots to say here.  I am going to skip past the long explanation and leave it at:  when the dvds are printed and headed my way, then I will activate the thing on kickstarter that says "you have 48 hours to put in any address changes".  This will give people the opportunity to change their address to "WDG" or away from WDG or whatever.   Once the 48 hour period is past and all addresses are locked down, that will be the moment I currently intend to fill out pie and wdg stuff.

We are closing in on the finish line for the editing of the dvd.

Here is a fun little artifact:   a low res version of the intro (now final)

I think Dan did an excellent job!

1. Intro looks great!

2. "My Stuff" stopped working properly in Edge browser. Only displays "My Transactions", and ignores clicks on other sections (cannot switch to "DM threads - I purchased/rented"). Works fine in Chrome and Firefox

It begins.

All of the kickstarter supporters that selected a reward for the hd streaming version of the rocket oven dvd should now have access to the video here.

A few people that have selected "tiny download" should have access here.    As the day passes, i will monitor server load to make sure everything is smooth and everybody should have tiny download access by the end of the day.

Tomorrow we start with HD download stuff.   That will be spread out to keep the server load stuff happy.  Again, I will give some out, then monitor for how the server is doing.

Due to being in Cambodia, and having a snail's paced internet connection (6 Megabits down), it took me about 45 minutes, all in all, to successfully download the file. (The download failed a couple of times.) But, we finally got there.

Thank you for the video file.

HI Paul!
I know this thread is for support... I don't need support :-) , I just wanted to say THANKS! to all you AMAZING! people who made this possible.
The Video, the content, the quality every single detail is just freaking Amazing!.. Not only the Rocket ovens but also all others I got! The RMH DVDs are great too!

I know there are a few more of the "stretchy" goodies coming but even at this stage I have the feeling that I already got WAAAAAAYYYYY more than what I paid for, and in the world we live in this is a very rare feeling, most people tend to make promises and under deliver/barely deliver or even just plainly screw you, is rare to get soooo much more value than what was paid for.

I'll take the opportunity to throw in just one question :) .. was the PDC for Scientist&Engineer  recorded? and will it ever make it into the digital market? Hope it will, cant wait to get my hands on that after listening to the podcast... yes, I'm one of the POD people :)

Thank you again ALL YOU AMAZING people!

cheers
carlosG.

Thanks for the kind words Carlos.

The scientist and engineer PDC was not recorded.   It was excellent.  So excellent, I tried to make a bit of a podcast afterward to capture a bit of the vibe of it.

Hey Paul,
I bouhgt into your kickstarter and received 'Rocket ovens dvd as tiny download' for free via email.
After signing into my account, the video still asked me to pay for it.  I checked 'my stuff' and it's not in their either.

What do I need to do to get my dvd download?
Thanks for your work,
Mark

Mark,

I checked your account.   You supported the kickstater at the $15 level (which is not free, btw).  That gives you the final version of "Rocket Ovens" as HD Streaming.

I went and looked at your account and saw oodles of stuff in your "my stuff" including the HD streaming version of "Rocket Ovens."

Then why did the beautiful gir bot send me an email saying I've been given access "to the premium content of "Rocket Ovens DVD as tiny download" on permies.com."?

I am just curious, but do I understand correctly that the plans are not part of the kickstarter?

Correct.

Also the plans have a statement that says the rocket engine portion of the stove is not part of the scope of the project.  I do not recall that the kickstarter spelled out that it only was for the body of the oven itself.  Perhaps I missed that.

I have zero control over what is said in the plans.  That is davin's project.

Also it seems that the oven kickstarter does not really tell you how to make  shelving for the oven.

Is this an opportunity for someone in the community to come up with plans for finishing the stove and sell it to others within the community with a participation by the owners of the site of course.

I think that if somebody built the oven and then built the shelves/racks then people would certainly appreciate the extra info.   For us, the video that was available was pretty limited, so i think we did a pretty good job of putting a video together with the information we had.

Paul,
Invested in your kickstarter at the $60 level.
I just bought a house in August and with all the doings there, well I forgot about collecting my stuff.
Is there a thread that discusses this?
Is it too late?
I would appreciate any information you can give.

I tried link at beginning of this thread and it seems to go to an affiliate link?

It does?

I see one link that is intentionally placed in that thread and it goes to https://permies.com/forums/premium/list#mystuff - is this the one you are thinking of?

There are some other links in that thread that are "auto links" - could it be one of those?

A bit more detail here will help me get things sorted out.

I looked up your stuff on kickstarter.  It says that you supported the kickstarter for $30 (physical dvd).   Did kickstarter take $60 from you?  If so, that sounds like a very important thing to get sorted out.

This is the thread for discussing this!

It is not too late!   There are people that supported my kickstarters from four years ago and I am still getting them sorted out.

First, emails were sent to you with links to your stuff.  If you follow those links you will get your goodies.  Note that the email address that you use on kickstarter appears to be different from the email address you use on permies.   So will definitely need to get that sorted out - and the emails sent to your kickstarter email address will have the details for that.

Second, you ordered the physical DVD and they just recently arrived.   I will be stuffing boxes for a huge part of the day today.

Third, when you were asked to provide your mailing address, you didn't.  So you won't be part of the first wave of boxes to go out.   Once all of these boxes go out, we will start to sort through all support requests - maybe in a week?

You know Paul, no one ever wants to learn they screwed up. Especially if they do it publicly. But I did, sorry about that. I wasn't trying to gouge you or the permies group, like other things, time has away of diminishing stuff...and memory.

So I followed link to Kickstarter sent back in July, I filled out survey. Saw that I did only invest at $30/plus shipping level.
Still a little confused on where to access candy. But I am getting closer.
Can't wait for dvds to arrive, all my inlaws around WV are woodburners.

Sorry again,
Mike

P.S. I recall you wanting to grow lemons in Montana, how is that going?

A bit off topic, but I think half the stuff I post is an attempt to verify that I have phrased things correctly - and I ask people to comb through my stuff to make sure the grammar is good, the bits of info are rock solid, etc.   So I post prolifically with the idea of learning if I have screwed up.   Especially if I do it publicly.

And I suppose an alternative path would be to charge a bit more to pay somebody to sort stuff out privately, but I'm an engineer, so I like to find ways to do this sort of thing efficiently.   The great thing about this thread is that people can see the common solutions to stuff.   I think this is the third kickstarter with a support thread like this and it seems that calls for support are about 10% of what they normally are.  So efficient!

At the same time ....   some people have told me that my people skills ... uh ....   fall short of expectations ....  and to confuse things even further, others have told me that my people skills are fucking awesome.   So then it seems that I need to hire a polite person to provide support to the people that need a polite person and i can continue to talk to the people that are not worried about my style.   But I have not yet figured out how to get the right person to the person needing support.

So, I think I am doing what everybody does:  make the best of it.    In time everything will be sorted out and we will be on to the next project!

So I followed link to Kickstarter sent back in July, I filled out survey. Saw that I did only invest at $30/plus shipping level.

Just to be clear, you found the email that was sent in july and filled out the survey today, right?   (not filled it out in july, right?)

Still a little confused on where to access candy. But I am getting closer.

To that same email address, we sent you a whole bunch of emails.   Did you not get those?   At least two were pretty recent emails.   Maybe check your spam box?

We recently found out that all of our emails to yahoo and aol are being rejected.  I suggest people stop using yahoo and aol as their service has become so riddled with problems to make them nearly unusable.

Can't wait for dvds to arrive, all my inlaws around WV are woodburners.

Infecting brains!

Sorry again,

All part of getting this sort of thing sorted out.  Thanks for supporting my kickstarter!

I've tried to wait until the dust settles. What happens for me with kickstarter is that I don't even remember what level of reward I signed up for so I don't know what I'm supposed to get. I think I opted for the level where I could watch the streaming video. But, I'm afraid I have to ask you to look at your records and then tell me how to access it or refer me to a post where that already exists. Sorry about this.

Yup: $15.  Streaming.

If you look at the "my stuff" link at the top, it will have a link to the rocket ovens video, plus links to your other goodies.

Hi Paul, me again, never found any emails to show where candy is. I don't seem to have a "my stuff" link. You are referring to permies dashboard?
Of course I couldn't find it at my kickstarter either.
I saw a link aways above about all stuff delivered to correct people.

Mike,

In order to sort this stuff out, I asked some questions above - if you could take a moment to answer those, that would help.

A critical piece here is that the candy was sent to the email address you specified on kickstarter.  Did you look on THAT email?  Did you look in the spam box?

Go to your Kickstarter account and see what email you used there.  Paul will send the stuff to THAT email account.  Check the spam folder.

Paul,
Sorry for not realizing I used a different email for kickstarter. Thanks for educating me.

That's been an interesting and frustrating experience. I started out online back in 95 or maybe a hair earlier using hotmail.  Well when gmail came along you had to get an invitation. So once I got that I set up an email address, and eventually I wanted one for just business. Then jalf a dozen email addresses later, I started mainly using just one.
Hotmail had a big part in sticking with gmail, I logged in one day a few years back, only to find 98 percent of anything I ever had received gone. They had been bought out by Microsoft, so now I needed to login that way.
I would have washed my hands of the whole bunch, but I used hotmail addresses as a backup if I ever forgot my gmail address passwords.
You might use your mom's birthday backwards for all your passwords, but gmail occasionally says, "Your password is old, time for a new one. I had bought one of those fancy password creators, but unbeknownst to me they expire. Then they need bought off to work again.

And how was your day?

😂 Mike

263 DVDs went out yesterday.  We ran out of boxes. More people wanted physical DVDs than I expected.   The additional boxes will arrive tomorrow and we should get the rest of the dvds out shortly after that.
