Chris, Dez, and I went to town today. Bought some tasty groceries! Went to a nursery where I wanted to buy all the things, but instead just bought some organic seedling soil. I almost bought some pruners, but decided against it for the moment.
After that was ramen time! Michi.. Oh how I love you.. But the ramen I had today wasn't as good as last time. The flavor profile was a bit too dark and heavy for me. After that, mochi ice cream! After that, ice cream from the shop next door! (You can never have too much ice cream. Though I did only have a kid's scoop because ugh I was so full.)
Then we went over to Murdoch's (who's way too old for this sh.. Nevermind) where I found an electric Stihl chainsaw that I decided I couldn't live without, plus it was on sale! Now I can go cut a stump for my log hive! 😃🐝
Then we went to the main store where I peeked some peepers, ogled a bow saw, and tried on a bunch of cowboy hats. Didn't find the perfect one today. Might need to see if the thrift stores have any..
That store was pretty busy, and we were all tuckered so we came home. I napped on the way home, which made the drive really short! 😂
My upper back has been spasming lately, so I laid down on my heating pad and watched Geoff Lawton's Soil video. I love how he identifies the soil condition by the weeds and their roots. So much attention to detail. Dandelions? Soil is compacted. Thistle? Soil pH is acidic. How he looks at the soil and the systems at large reminded me of Alan Booker's Observation for Design seminar I'm taking. Quite a lot of correlations, really. So far I'm enjoying the seminar class and am excited to get the book in my hands so I can start note-taking in the margins and drawing/journaling in it. 🤓
After the movie was over, we went up for the Ramen-Off! Lara and Matt were going to have a contest to see who could make the best ramen. It sounds like they combined their powers (with some help from Kyle and whoever else) to make us a delicious ramen feast tonight! Ugh, so good.
Note: You can never eat too many meals of ramen in a day. 😂🍜😋
Had some great conversations today about soil, interpersonal dynamics, forgiveness vs acceptance, and loss. Like the weather today, the conversations were all over the place. I was up, down, then brought back up. Sometimes if you're there for someone else, they'll be there for you too.
I love your little seedling huts, and need them in my life! Feeling decidedly plastic poor right about now...I've repurposed every last yogurt-type container for planters, but we don't drink milk. Now have another thing to look for next time I'm at the dump. Trash becomes treasure! Thanks

Heck yeah! I had forgotten about using these, but remembered in time to save them from recycling. 😁
