My mind has been so preoccupied today I can barely remember what I did all day. Started making a thing, but the chisel was really dull. Began the adventure of sharpening. Got distracted and helped Daniel with some Love Shack stuff. Began sharpening again. Other distractions. Finally mostly sharpened.. Time to get the auditorium ready for Taco Tuesday. Dez helped me get the chairs down. Made it look nice, and now it's the end of my day. Stacked wood by the fire for dinner time. Puttered in my garden patch for a few minutes. Sat in the library staring at emails. Joined everyone in the auditorium for dinner. Ate tacos. (Queso and chunky guac were tasty!) Listened to community business. Decided that was enough of being around other humans for the day. Retreated to my cave to watch a few episodes of Hilda before bed. Found I had a package of seed packets! And more for the rest of the Boots! Very exciting end to my day. Thank you, Mike!! 🙏🏻❤️

Do you know what the small bumpy-leaved plant coming up amongst the purple flowers that you posted are? Looks sort of like nettle, but not. I've been really enjoying following along your journey at Wheaton. You let us see more than just the doings, to the inside of things. So thank you! We are doing similar things up north of you near the Canadian border (still US). It is a bit wetter but kin country just the same. Though we are just two plus a pup, on twenty wild off-grid acres with a little creek spilling through. We're people who don't love crowds and we don't mind our own company (most of the time), one the main reasons we are where we are. And yet there are consequences to living outside of your society. When I think of all we want to accomplish here, sometimes it seems our two hands and minds are just not enough. Sometimes we get stuck in our own heads, with no-one to help bounce us out. Sometimes a simple job becomes a downward spiraling mess for lack of helping hands. Which is one of the reasons that I find Wheaton Labs and Permies so fascinating. And helpful, too, even to those of us on the periphery. We are all learning together. I wish you all of the good things.

Hey Orin! I claimed plot 2. If you go back a few pages you'll see that we started deconstruction a little in the house to make a better layout for us.
I heard you're coming back. 🎉  How soon do you arrive?

Glad to see people working in Ant Village! You two definitely have some resources on that plot....and it's nice to have your own team of two right out of the gate

On happy rumors and such.... seems I've gotten my hands on a solar panel or two and am waiting on a 280Ah LiFePo battery and a bms...but an exact arrival date in Ant Village is a murky art of discernment

You're right, actually. It's purple deadnettle.

Your message touched me. The little you mentioned of your place sounds wonderful. I miss having dogs and would so love to have one in my life again, but now doesn't seem to be the time. Give your pup extra kisses for me.

Sometimes it definitely feels constricted with just two people, but after being here in a large group trying to make decisions.. maybe two people isn't as bad as it seems. Maybe ask the pup for advice from time to time. I do that occasionally with my kittehs, and sometimes it's helpful just to say things out loud to somebody else to be able to work through a thing. This forum is also pretty good at floating ideas if you want outside opinions, and even if you don't.

Maybe you can stop by sometime and visit. There's lots of forest to get lost in if you want to get a good wander in, but it sounds like you could probably do that up at your place. I hope someday to have my own wild place to wander in.

Be well!

That does make getting the work done a bit easier. If I had to do it all myself, I'd make changes to make it all a little easier and less complicated but still a bunch of work.

Jackpot! Happy day for you. That'll come in handy out there.

When the murk clears, we'll see you here.
