Yeah that seems quite overpriced, even though its a beautiful area. Can’t blame them though…no ask, no get. In a similar (but I think a bit “better”) climate in NW California, we paid $268k for our 25acres. Zillow estimates its now worth between $300-400k (no real comps here to base that on though). Probably could've gotten close to 500k during the recent insanity, but I plan to die here (hopefully in a few decades, I am only 40). A nearby 40acre property with some structures (mostly between real fixer uppers and teardowns) went for 85k at auction in 2022. The buyer ended up being the
local judge who placed the tax/debt lien on the place though, and that is par for the
course out here in the last of the wild west. I can work around it mostly as a white guy with some means, but that lack of good governance does drive down real estate values here. On the other hand, Del Norte County is the most beautiful place I have ever been, and our
