Ten More Days Until 100.

Been helping Dez with the Solarium 3D this morning. Made these fun gifs of the layers.

This afternoon a couple of us went out to Fred's plot to fell, limb, and peel logs. I really enjoy peeling logs. Used the draw knife and the smaller bark spud to peel a couple trees. One of which I was able to peel the entire underside with the little spud without having to flip the tree around (it didn't want to flip over). The sap is flowing, so the bark peels off so easily right now. So different from peeling logs in February.. lol

Saw a couple cute little flowers in the forest. Enjoy!

Today I did a bit of gardening this morning. My Climbing Triple-L-Top Tomatoes got planted in the garden patch today. I also moved some Lofthouse Chariots outside to the garden as well. I have quite a few tomato babies doing really well still, so I'm hoping we have a huge crop of tomatoes this season. I love picking tomatoes off and munching away on them as I walk around my garden, so I think I might have to spread these out all over the place so I have tomatoes wherever I go.. hmm..  I may take some time this weekend to put a few more seedlings out into the wild as well.

I planted a few more seedlings this morning as well. Thai Basil, Lemongrass, Extrakta Sage, and Spilanthes. I'm curious to see how quickly these guys come up. Instead of putting them in a window, they're sitting outside the window. I'll have to be sure to water them regularly because I imagine they'll get toasty up there, but hopefully the warmth will help them germinate more quickly. The wood stacked around them might also help them stay a little protected from the weather. Ever so slightly.

Paul and I met and discussed the design for the bathroom in Cooper Cabin. There are a couple changes, but generally I'm ready to start getting that project rolling. Tomorrow I'll update my 3D design so I can get a clear idea of how much wood I'll need so I can give him a heads up of what to expect when I head to the lumber store. If I can get the design squared away tomorrow morning, I'll go grab the wood in the afternoon and start getting things staged.

To knock out a pretty big part of an ongoing project today, I was able to install the new bulbs in the classroom. SO MUCH BRIGHTER. Really awesome. I dragged Paul down to check it out and he seemed pleased as well. Whew. We also discussed a new location for two of the remaining fixtures, so Lara, Fred, and I looked for some reflective shades to direct the light downward more strongly. We'll get it figured out and I'll get those moved and rewired so we can continue to improve the lighting down there. Felt good to make some progress on that project. I push it to the backburner a lot because I don't like being on an extension ladder while other people are working under me. Feels a little too unsafe for me. Today there were a couple other folks working around in there, but not under me, so I quickly shimmied up and down the ladder a few times to get the new bulbs in place. Satisfying to see the space become better illuminated.

At the moment, I'm having a lot of fun listening to this guy discuss "indicators" in your garden. Check it out!

Game cams, update framing in my mock up for CC bathroom, and running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Check.

Here's a little video of Zack's Pond for you.

That is a really big piece of pie for such a tiny ad:
