Greenhouse this morning. Cooper Cabin this afternoon.
Got the walls and ceiling siding finished. Monday I'll install the beautiful sink Erica made, assemble the toilet enclosure I made, then work on hanging the door. Maybe I can convince Kyle to come trim it out for me. π€π
Lots to do this weekend. Have a good one!

Josiah dumped a bunch of dirt for us to shovel onto the greenhouse roof this morning

I hope so too. I'm pretty tuckered most of the time. We work hard around here.
Did you know those iris roots are used in brewing adult beverages? I didn't until recently. The dryer they are, the more they contribute to the final product. Once dried they have a sweet, pleasant smell.
I use Orris root (what it's called once dry) in the all herbal and natural ointment I've been making for decades. I add it for its preservative properties.
I didn't know that! Do you have to wait until a certain time of year to harvest them? Do you have any good beverage recipes for the irises?

Now that you mention it, that sounds familiar. I think I looked them up initially when I planted the seeds, but couldn't remember what their story was. Thank you for the reminder! ππ»
Good day so far. Chris got the slats on the bed finished and ready for attachment. I cleaned up the rails a bit more with my hatchet and draw knife. It looks good! Reorganized the cabin and cleaned some stuff up a bit better in preparation for moving in.
I finally got ahold of someone with a mattress, so we went up to Thompson Falls this afternoon to pick it up. It's super cozy and is thick, so we can't even feel the lumpiness of the slats. We put a couple blankets down on the slats anyways to both protect the mattress from the rough surfaces and fill in the waves a bit. Probably no need on that second thing. This mattress is a nice Tempurpedic that should work just fine for us. Now we just need a step ladder to get onto the bed.. π€π
Took apart the shelf at the head of the bed. Used the wood to make new shelves on the wall. Chris made a temporary step stool for us to get into bed. Kittens are unsure what the heck is going on, but they've been helping build with us today. Sandmin even provided some quality control, as seen below. My driver batteries died, and I ran out of wood to make more shelves. Maybe I'll go do some gardening after the kiddos stop napping on our legs.
