Anne, welcome to the forum.

I'll play ...

You are on the hunt for fruit that you can add to your garden but don't yet have.  (I have over fifty types and counting!)

If you are riveted by videos that talk about how to build your soil, you might be a permie!

You might be a permie if you slow down to get a better look at what others have pitched at the curb.

One might be a permie by signing up to this website  wanting to learn from others, and...travel with a shovel (in my case, in the trunk of my car) in case there might be a plant in need of rescue into my garden from abandoned places. Legally!

You might be a Permie if it's hard to throw anything away. Maybe it could be used for compost or mulch, to feed the chickens, buried in the hugelkultur pit, start a woodstove fire, given to someone in need. Anything but send it to the landfill.

...if you spend your lunch time watching a video on how to make lye from hardwood ashes, even though you don't have a fireplace, don't have hardwood to burn, and you hope things don't come to this in the next several years...although it sure seems like it might!

If when you're hiking your hubby becomes annoyed because you never look up - you're either
1). Picking up other peoples' trash,
2). Looking for plants you can't identify
3). Telling hubby which plants you DO identify, letting him know even though he's oblivious,
4). Picking up after your dog - and other peoples' dogs,
5). Or chatting about what projects you'd like him to help you with at home.
I mean, what's acreage for if not to have fun growing stuff?
Or suggesting (again) you really REALLY want goats (just
2... I swear!) to eat the invasives.

...you say Termites are GOOD, essential and useful for nature and take thankfully all Termite Nests from your neighbors.
In the morning you chop one up to see that you have no weak or small chicks when Termites are in the game.

But you told the neighbors, despite the termite infestation in our area, keep some nests in the ground so the termites are self sustaining...

Termites give power and as long there are some on the tray even the smallest chick will not let itself push away from the bigger ones.

Every time it rains, your brain insists that you divert the runoff to where it needs to go.

your opinion of a certain person changes drastically when you learn she is a plant rustler too (and you eventually end up swapping seeds with her)

your dream ride is not a Porsche but rather any old banger pickup, for all those moments you see things laying on the side of the road for the trash (and make your partner nuts with your wailing of "BUT I COULD USE THAT!")

your local merchants save oddball things and/or waste for you, saying "I thought of you immediately"

you can't go anywhere without making all your companions nuts by constantly pointing out every single edible/medicinal plant you see

You might be a permie if,

your wife calls out for a BBQ and all think a Goat would be nice.
Well knowing your farm team you go an buy 2 living goats and watching the sad faces because nobody want to slaughter them.

The two new hedge clippers do a great job pruning the trees and the female goat is now awaiting her first baby

got another one right out of the life...

you might be a permie if...

... your farm gang is catching eels in the drying out pond and you tell them the biggest eels are hiding in about 2-3 feet depth.

You do not bother the fish, but happily realize that they just found the best clay for a cob house right below the top soil in your own land.
