Sounds good! I added in two words in bold, as I think they make it read a bit better. The list of goodies does end up looking like a giant block of text (and I know I tend to skim past those, and other's probably do, too). Maybe do dashes like this:

The book is done!  The new kickstarter begins!  And a long list of people are throwing in 31 bonus goodies (eBooks, presentations, movies, magazines, art and more) if you support the kickstarter early!   Even at just $1!

Shawn and I started work on this book 15 months ago!   It was originally going to be a collection of my previous writings, but it grew.  And shrunk.  And got polished over and over and over.  And Tracy added artwork.   And about 60 people reviewed the early copy and gave feedback.   In the end, it is a massive community effort.

It’s ready for the final editing, layout and printing.  And that’s the reason to do the kickstarter.

Check out our cool video, the table of contents, the amazing rewards, and, of course, the long list of bonus goodies you get if you support this right away!

xxx link goes here

For $1 you get:

 - Permaculture Playing Cards eBook (4 gift codes)
 - Care and Feeding of a Rocket Mass Heater (4 gift codes)
 - Rocket Ovens Cooking Microdoc (4 gift codes)
 - Hugelkultur Microdoc (4 gift codes)

The pledge adjustments look great.  The new picture of the book/apple looks great.  Now when i looked at the kickstarter there were two versions of the image in there, one is good and the one that's the video is pixelated.

I updated the primary image with the new image about half an hour ago.  Sorry, I should have said so in this thread.

Over the last few days I think I've probably added 200 footnotes to the book with links to relevant permies threads. One more push today and I hope to get through the rest of the book!

Kickstarter won't let us post an FAQ until the kickstarter is officially started.   But there have been some really excellent FAQs so far that we have ready to put up the moment the kickstarter starts.

What other Questions are there to to add to this list?

FAQ

Q:   Can you make a reward so I can get more?  Like maybe a case price?

A:  When the kickstarter is over, we will set people up with their goodies on permies.  The people at the $80 level and up will be set up to have purchased a dozen physical books.  And there will be an upgrade option to a full case.

Q:  What will the “language rating” be?

A:  The language rating will be:  Perfect!  We even made up some new words!   Like “VORP!”   Vorpitty vorp vorp.

One of our reviewers was contemplating giving the book to people that choose to fear and hate  certain words.   He counted every spec of potential hate fuel in the book.

To gauge how we did, we looked to the IMDB parental guide stuff for the top 10 (in monies) movies of 2018.  It looks like we would be rated “mild” - same as the Disney cartoon “Incredibles 2”.  “Deadpool 2” was rated “severe.”

The reviewer’s report points out that we say “own your own shit” twice, “damn” four times and we quote an older document that says “The second observation is that most people find folks one level back to be ignorant and people two levels back seem like assholes.“   That’s it.  That’s everything.  Apparently, “shit”, “damn” and “assholes” don’t have the punch they had 40 years ago.  Since there are about 20 times more total words in our book than the disney movie, I wonder if we score “milder” than the Disney movie.  Which is the mildest of the top ten movies of 2018.  So we would probably be rated “too mild.”  If we want to reach a wider audience, I suppose we should bump the spice and excitement up a few notches just to get to “popular Disney movie level” (or to prove that this book is not under the thumb of some hate group), but I choose to focus on this kickstarter instead.

Of course, if you ask me to come speak to your group, I promise I will use the FULL beauty of the English language.  Word police be damned!

Q:  Why is the international shipping so expensive?

A:  We have about 40 hours invested in getting the price down this much. Frankly, that’s about 39.75 more hours than we ever wanted to spend learning about international shipping. It’s nuts. We got it to be cheaper - but all we can do is pass our pain onto you. I think your government and our governments are punishing you for something. If you know things we don’t know, please share that information here https://permies.com/t/107089/International-shipping-world-book-kickstarter

Q:  Why are some rewards earlier than others?

A:  Printing, shipping and fondling of physical books and boxes takes time.   So for the few rewards that are entirely digital, we think we can have stuff done earlier.

Q: Why does it cost more to have Paul come and speak at my event than it does to have Shawn come?

A: Speaking services are priced per pound.

Q: Are you set up with kickbooster or something similar?

A: I looked into kickbooster last year and decided against it.   Instead, I gave referral codes to anybody who asked and then gave them kickbacks when the kickstarter was over.   We are doing this again for this kickstarter.   Details here https://permies.com/t/kickback

Q:  I would like to interview both of you for my podcast.  Are you okay with that?

A:  Yes, here is the media kit with all the goodies and contact info:  https://permies.com/w/media

That's it.  We've done all the things.  Now is the time to begin the kickstarter.

Hi Paul,
Take ginger for the nausea and don't barf, all will be fine. You are well loved and respected, we are all watching the clock, ready to pledge.
It's ok for you, it starts at 2pm your time - I have to wait until 10pm tonight before I can dive in. ;o)

I imagine this might be a frequenly asked question: doing the math in the reward examples sounds like it's $8.33 per book. does that mean you get three (physical) books at the $25 reward level?

edit: nevermind, question answered in live kickstarter
