Since we're talking about profiles, I just noticed Nicole reached quite a milestone with 500 apples. Congrats!

Sure--just in case it's been fixed since then. I know they put in some patches since this first rolled out, but maybe it somehow only fixed it for those with titles? I have no idea how the code works...

Thank you, Chris! It looks like your scavenger hunt did not update, so, it seems the problem is happening oddly with just non-titled members, as I see James's pictures (at least) are showing up. James, is there anyway you could embed a video so I can see if the Pollinator-level scavenger hunt is working? Thanks!

If you  keep scrolling down on your profile, you should be able to see your Scavenger Hunt. It's on the left side. Are you on a mobile device, or a desktop?

Scott, when I click on your name it takes me to your profile page where I can see the scavenger hunt. Lots of green check marks, left side of the page ...looks like you've done well. Can you not see this?

Congratulations to Burra and Nicole for completing the Pioneer Scavenger Hunt!

Scott got a check for the video he posted, so I will try this weekend to add another video to see if I can complete mine to check off.  I will have to refresh my memory on how to do it.

So any idea why some of us still can't complete the Pioneer Scavenger Hunt? I mean, if it's just some of us, there's got to be a reason, right? I must have completed the unchecked items like four times already.

I think it's a problem with the pioneer scavenger hunt. Have you noticed any non-pollinator/staff that have completed theirs? We got swamped recently with a lot of other issues to work on, so I think our programmers forgot to keep working on this, busy with other stuff. I don't think the Pioneer title has even been made yet, but that's not something I can do.

I'll go bump our staff threads about this! (Thanks for reminding us!)

Very few Non-staff have gotten "Create a post with a youtube or vimeo video (0/1)" marked off their Pioneer Scavenger Hunt.

I have found maybe one or two Pollinators that have gotten it with a very exceptional post; and even some Staff Members haven't gotten it.
I figure they will get it fixed one of these days.

After it is fixed, I think there needs to be some way to encourage new members to try the Pioneer Scavenger Hunt.

It looks like my images are being tallied toward my scavenger hunt, but not my videos.

Here's a test video. Maybe Gir can help?

Chris, when was the last time you posted an image? Maybe that bug worked itself out, or something funky is going on. Is there anyone else who's posted pictures and videos and not had them show up on their scavenger hunt?

It looks like only embedded images currently count toward the scavenger hunt, not attached images. Chris (or anyone else) want to try embedding an image and see if that will check off the "Create a post with an image" portion of the scavenger hunt?

try embedding an image and see if that will check off the "Create a post with an image" portion of the scavenger hunt?

Nope! Nada!  I have tried using this method:

In the 'Reply' or 'New Topic' screen, there is a grey, Youtube (or Vimeo) button at the top (these are in the desktop view only) for making an embedded video:

https://permies.com/t/30463/post-YouTube-video-Permies

And this method:

https://permies.com/t/12883/embed-youtube-videos

It seems to me that this is a programming thing and should automatically happen.  Seems like it would have been fixed within the last two months. So why does it happen for some and not for others?

My concern is that a new member might really be trying to complete the Scavenger hunt and might become discouraged.  Any idea when the Pioneer title will be unveiled?

I just looked and mine are all checked except for the 'bookmark a thread' one.

I never noticed when that happened although I'm pretty sure several of mine were unchecked earlier when this first began?

Maybe it only works when we start a new thread with an embedded video or an image rather than posting one in any thread?

Ah-ha! So, I posted that, and it did not tally on my scavenger hunt. Now I'll go and start a thread with a video and see if that tallies.

Edit: I started a thread here: https://permies.com/t/82723/Hurdy-Gurdy-Test, but it didn't tally. Interesting....

Odd. I tried another video as a first post here: https://permies.com/t/82724/Oscar-eating-Crabs-Test. It also didn't seem to add to my tally. Maybe it's the forum it's posted in? I'm really perplexed here...

This is confusing but I think I've got a grip on part of it...

I'm attaching a couple snips to this post ...the first is mine and it shows I am working at the pioneer level...at the top it shows -pioneer.

The second is Nicole's and it shows that she has completed the 'pioneer' level shown as the '+pioneer' at the bottom and is beginning the '-pollinator' level as shown at the top.

I think I understand the numbers after each bit to check off to mean how many out of how many necessary to get a check? The first number is how many we did and the second, after the slash is how many we need to do?

I think it's all a little hazy...

Anne's level went to 'pollinator' as soon as she 'passed' the 'pioneer' level.... ?

I'm not sure I've explained what I'm thinking, except I see that Nicole leveled up and now has more to do for the 'pollinator' level?

So does that mean that everyone started at the same 'pioneer' level?  even staff?

I think things are working as intended...just a bit unclear how and when they are happening???

So, every title comes with a scavenger hunt. There's a pioneer one for non-titled members. Pollinators have both a Pioneer scavenger hunt, and a Pioneer Scavenger Hunt. The pollinator one is mininmized until they complete the pioneer one, but they can still see all the things in the pollinator one. Once they finish the pioneer one, it gets minimized and the Pollinator one is maximized. If they finish the Pollinator one that should be it--no more scavenger hunts should appear...at least I think so. No one has been able to finish that one because the "Book Review" one doesn't work yet.

A Gardener starts out with a Pioneer scavenger hunt maximized, and a Pollinator and Gardner scavenger hunts minimized. If they finish the pioneer one, it minimizes and the Pollinator one maximizes. If they were to finish the Pollinator one, the Gardener scavenger hunt would maximize for them but every one who isn't a gardener/steward would just see their pollinator scavenger hunt. At least, that's what's supposed to happen. Once again, no one's completed the Pollinator scavenger hunt, so we don't really know for certain. It's a mystery!

I believe I have met the requirements for creating a post with an image and creating a post with a video (I have several with videos) but the scavenger hunt indicates otherwise.  I am open to the likelihood that I am misinterpreting something here.

As noted above, it appears the image posting requirement needs to be embedded, a flaw, in my opinion, as it shouldn't matter how it gets posted.

And none of my YouTube posts have been recognised.

So if it can be fixed to include all posted images and links to YouTube, we would have a great many more of the first level hunt complete.

Chris, have you tried posting any recently?

Mine are being credited though maybe not instantly.  On the last one I just used "copy url" and used the youtube button at the top.

Make sure the video is youtube or vimeo.

Weird, that time it worked, but it didn't the last three times.

Chris, left click on the youtube I just posted, copy it's URL, and embed it in your own post. Maybe it works now?
