For now, you get a whole lot of apples for being the first non-pollinator to complete the Pioneer scavenger hunt....and I try to figure out how to get the Pioneer title up and running. And, then, you will be the first ever Pioneer! You're the pioneer of pioneers!

Wonderful! I'd like to thank the Academy...

No, seriously, thanks for all the apples and pie. I am glad everything is running as it should.

I found out that it's the number of POSTS with youtube/vimeo videos that counts, not the amount of videos themselves.

The book review scavenger hunt feature works now, and works for ALL reviews, not just book reviews. (It does not work retroactively, so you have to make three more reviews with the magic words "__ out of 10 acorns") I also accidentally discovered that capitalization matters with this. I accidentally wrote ACORNS once, and it didn't count toward my number of reviews.

Could you explain a little more if you can?

I think I just got credit for the towel you tube.  I have done lots more since getting the first credit. that I have not gotten credit for. I wish I knew the secret.  I thought they had to be in the original post so maybe that is the problem.

So, if I make a post with 5 videos embedded, it only counts toward 1 for the scavenger hunt. If I then "reply" and make another post with a video, that will count for another on my scavenger hunt. It doesn't have to be the first post in a thread.

For example, if someone had ZERO on their video scavenger hunt,

  • They make a thread with a video embedded=1 point
  • they make a reply with three videos embedded in it=3 more points
  • They make another reply with 1 video=1 more point

  • This would make for a total of 5 points for the video scavenger hunt.

Maybe it is fixed now.  On May 5th I posted this one with two videos.  I only expected to get credit for one video.

I just posted another video as a test and it worked.  I got credit for the new video.

As a test I posted another towel YouTube and I received credit for it.  This makes 4/10.

As a test I posted a new topic with a YouTube, I did not get credit for it so far.  It is still 4/10.

So the problems seems to be with new topics with videos or at least in my case.

I finished mine this morning expecting something exciting like a handshake from Paul. Whether anything automated happens, I still get bragging rights, correct?

As far as I know, we haven't gotten this thing automated. BUT, you are now our new guinea pig if our busy programmers can get it going. So, while there's no fancy title yet, I CAN and will splatter you with pie and apples!

    Bwahahahahahahaha! I did it!

Since we don't have the spiffy automated title-dubbing working yet, I was told I could just give the title manually. Since Greg has his scavenger hunt done, he is now our very first Pioneer. All hail Greg!

If anyone else notices that they have the scavenger hunt done, just tell me. I'll double-check to see if it's finished, and dub thee also with the Shiny Sword of Pioneering!

I have posted a number of photos so I'm not sure why Scavenger Hunt doesn't show that I have,  but here goes again. Perhaps image is different than photo from my photos?

The difference is that it's embedded, rather than attached. For some reason, the scavenger hunt program only looks for the [img] tags, rather than an actual image. Hopefully we can get that changed, but for now, just use the little embedding tags and it works!

It's also looking like the wrong word got put into the program, so instead of giving people the "pioneer" title when they complete the scavenger hunt, gir bot has been giving the "pollinator" title. We should have that fixed tonight.

GIGANTIC thanks to S Bengi, Nina and Denise for testing this for us!!!

Okay now it works! I tried editing my previous post in the Goats etc. forum, adding an embedded image. That didn't do the trick. Has to be a new post. Glad I could be of help!

I finally got my Pioneer the other day.

You know what held me up? The damn stickers. I didn't select any profile stickers.

Trying to get arbitrary internet points is hard sometimes...

I finally figured it out, or it got fixed. By accident. Go figure.

I posted three images using the IMG button, using the URLs for each image, and lo and behold, the girbot emailed me about my success.

Now why didn't it work earlier? Was it something I did, or failed to do, or has something changed with the programming? I don't think I did anything differently.

I think there might have been a fix, as we'd noticed that non-staff couldn't do it, but staff could. Usually. Hopefully it's fixed now for everyone!
