I've long thought myself leaning just a bit more towards being a cat person in the great Cats Rule, Dogs Drool debate up until about 20 years ago when the new man in my life wanted a Pug.
Mugzy Malone was Puginese, softer fur, longer body and just enough length of snout to avoid most breathing issues.  He was everyone's friend. He loved to swim in the pool and eat gophers.  He was my constant companion and we miss him.

At age 8, I brought him home a baby companion of his own, but she ended up ruling him and the house. Punky is a mixed breed smaller dog, looking a bit like a mini American Eskimo dog. Now she's the grumpy old lady, turning 11 in Feb.

And now we saw a post on social media offering a 4 month old puppy free to good home. Jumped on it and have our own Walley (Wall-e)! He's a smooth coated tan hound type dog with black snout, eyes and tip of tail, big floppy ears and long legs. He's a Houdini, a hooligan and a terrorist in a puppy suit!

And I really don't know what I saw in cats... can't imagine my life without a canine companion.

After some skin issues have been addressed, here is "Noodle" the Dachshund.

I don't want to boast or anything, but I have a pretty cute dog.

Noodle the Dachshund

She has recently started to have a territorial beef with the local robin population. She REALLY likes to rub her whole body on any worm that she can find and has learned that robins eat worms. If she sees one within thirty yards, she activates her all paw drive and charges them. It's rather dramatic.

I already had the cat when I brought the dog in, in which the cat didn't like the idea of the dog being there. Now she's the opposite about that.
