How to monitor your badge bits

I have been very working hard on my badge bits.  One thing that really helps is to be able to
see what I have submitted, which badge bits have been  approved and which have not.  
This is a description of exactly how I do this.

I check this frequently so as to keep on top of any moosages that request clarification
or more information.


I first left-click on my picture with my name.



Then, I left click on "View Profile" in the drop down menu.



Your profile screen will appear.



You want to click on the "bb list" link next to "Merit badge:".



Your page listing all your Badge Bits by Topic will appear.



The dots at the right of your badge bit indicate the status:  
Green = Approved Submission
Yellow = Submission Pending Approval
Grey = Edge Case Submission
Red = Submission Flagged Incomplete

What are the negative bbv points for? A rating of how poorly we read the directions? I have a feeling that I'm going to get a bunch of those.

Yeah, negative BBV points are kinda like that.  If a BB is rejected you often get them.  When you are far enough along in the program that you can approve others, you get positive BBV points.

Read those directions closely, getting negative BBV is one sort of penalty.  The time the certifiers consume while debating a questionable submission is perhaps even more impactful :)

My weaknesses are plastic and clear pictures.  I'm working on it!  😎

I struggled with getting the right photos too, when I get started.
It helped me to think about how my post looks to a certifier and what I’d hope to see when someday I started certifying.
Now, as a certifier, I’m glad to hear you are working on it!

I just started being able to approve BBs.  Where would I go if I needed to debate a questionable submission?

Great question Tina!  Probably the best approach is to just leave it uncertified.  Staff certifiers have a secret place where we can talk about those situations.  By the way, that especially goes for "oddball" submissions.

If you do want to comment on the submission secretly though, one way would be to "report" the post and in the text box for that report, say what you were stuck on.  That way the staff folks should see your comment as they assess it.

, you'll see that the post has been approved. Once a BB is approved then it appears in the BB list on your profile.

In other words, each BB has it's own page for you to submit your documentation, each of those BB pages are organized in the 22 Aspect wikis. For example, here is the textiles aspect wiki: https://permies.com/wiki/101129/pep-textiles/PEP-Badge-Textiles#833686

When you scroll down on the textiles wiki, you'll see a hyperlink under the sand badge for "make a small pillow" and that will direct you to the thread where you submit your documentation.

I wonder if getting an e-book or physical book would also be helpful for you: buy a SKIP book
